atmosphere, aceyalone, akrobatic, arsonists, Heiro, Del the funkee homo
Yes mate, good choices indeed. Aceyalone - moonlit night, what a tune. And Atmosphere, song about a friend

Oh, and word to HighPhi, rap is integral to hip-hop, not something separate :hump:

all nine members of wutang are great indeed but 2pac had the "spark" that they cannot begain to come close to.

rap is apart of hip hop

MC SK3TCH3 in the house! i produce my own shit on a yamaha key board and RM1x, then drop lyrics with NO CHORUS. solid lyrics all the way through.

i think some ppl may have miss read my post,
rap is one of the 4 pillars of hip hop along with breaking, graf, and djin.
just got a personal message (will stay nameless) about how i know nothing about hiphop, so the following is the responce to that message,
buddy i live and breath hip hop and have for nearly 10 years, i dj for a hip hop crew, play in clubs etc. have graffed in 9 different countrys, so i think you should try doing you homework on me and hiphop befor you bag both of them out again.

havent heard the album yet, and it is common knowledge that 2pac was/is ahead of the game 11+ years ago. people cant even fuck with his shit today and its at least 11 years old. so arguing with anyone on it is pointless because true music lovers know i am right. besides, what other "rapper" has his work dissected in cal state berkely? hmmmm? or any other college in the country not just one as reputible as berkely. right 2pac is the only one. oh did you hear, they should have a class on the game dre and 50. ppssshhh!
oh and there are 5 elements of hip hop, beat boxing being the newiest addition, peace.

is 2pac the best, mabey, the point is you like him i like him and so do millions of other but hes not topping my list. his skills are fantastic though. in a game where its all about personal tastes, there can be no ONE best.
I think yeah beat boxing is a skill all on its own but to me it falls under the catogry of mcin. its all about voice produced sound and the mic, i know there are lots of beatboxers out there and i know a few of them that will want to rip shreads of me for saying that, but the reason there are 4 elemnts are the
visual-graf,
the body movment-breaking,
the voice/words-mcing
and the music-djin.

beatboxing has been around as long as mcing and it was never made a pillare of its own, add to the culture sure, but dont try to change the roots, they are what they are.

I have to say, I don't rate 50 cent or the Game at all, Dre I can dig, but I don't appreciate someone who only raps about guns and 'bitchez' etc.
I would also put beatboxing under MCing, as I don't think it can stand alone like the others.
So what're the programs of choice out there if I want to try MP3 mixing cos I don't have the time or money for vinyl?

i didnt say he was the best, i siad he was ahead of his time and most emcees and rappers havent caught up to his lyrical ability or passion driven material.

and it is people like you that are holding down the expansion of the community, and a true beat boxer would rip youfor saying that, MC is a master of ceremony, the dj provides the beats and TOGETHER they make music, thats old school thats the roots. but what your saying is someone who does both is limited to one or the other catagory. most of us in the hip hop community have recognized this and have made an effort to acknowledge it as its own "thing"

untill people go above and beyond the norm trying new things to be original and break the mold. stick to your roots and you will never see the potential of the sky

what do you (everyone) do to honor the 4 elements?
I've been writing rhymes since I was 15 maybe but emceeing for the last 3 years, I write on every smooth surface I can.. (tagging 'Lumps(zilla)' and 'Pope Wun'), I bomb on occasion but it's definitely not my strongest suit, and I cant break for SHIT.. way too big for that. I've always wanted to DJ but I have 2 really ill friends so i let them do their thing and I rip beats.
