Started an indoor grow and about 1 month in, just wanted to know if my plant looks okay. Im growing in a homemade pc box. I have 3 23w cfls (5000k , my home depit didnt have 6500k) running 18hrs on. I was also wondering if it would be beneficial for the plant to get about an hour of natural sunlight a day?20130411_113353.jpg20130410_191130.jpg20130410_191147.jpg

Looks good, I use a mix of 6500k and 2700k for a full light spectrum, but you're doing good, keep it up...and welcome to RIU

EDIT: I wouldn't put her into sunlight IMO it will stress it slightly as the UVs are different spectrums, but that's just my opinion, other do exactly what you're sayin with not so bad results...

why only 1 hour of natural sun? if you have the possibility, I would say you should leave them as much as possible in the sun, only thing you have to consider is the size.
Is that a FIM you did on the plant? I'll be curious to see what the results will be. I think of FIM like a kinder surprise, you never know what you'll get and how many tips you'll have in the end. Good luck with it buddy. BTW, what strain is it? is it a clone or from seed? what soil are you using? If concerned about the lights, try to buy some lamp from amazon

It was just bag seed not sure what strain..and yea I fimmed it. I was just curious about the sunlight not neccasarily doing it but just wanted ti know if it would help in anyway with the growth. .this is my 2nd attempt if indoor grow..my first grow I only harvested a joint but had horrible lighting..so i decided to make a pc grow box. Im using Fox farm ocean forest.

yours actually looks better than mine. I have no problem with my outdoor plants other than the spidermite battle im going through, but when i try indoor grows my foilage seems to small for me and when i see other plants on here they look amazing!

Are you mainlining? also I wouldnt switch the light sources up, it can shock them a bit going from a soft light to the most intense light there is, the sun.

im keeping the lighting the same til i go into flowering i will be switching to 23w 2700k bulbs.
but as the plant gets older i will be tying her down (i hope its a she lol) bending her every which way to get light throughout the whole plant.

Well I'm running 14 23 W for four plants. How close do you keep them to the lights. I am fortunate that I work from and my tent is five feet away from me. So I can keep them very close (1-2" away) and raise the lights as needed. Do you have a fan on them. It helps makes them strong as well. You can't tell from my pic but the stem is nice and thick.

For a first grow just using a bag seed is good training. Looks like you're on your way. If nothing else keep a small private journal on what you're doing, how often and so on. That will assist you in future endeavors and will help to let you see when you need to make changes, and since natural sunlight is always more beneficial than artificial it makes a good addition.

Main lining is when you cut the tops and let the side growth shoots pop out then you cut those also above the second node, you end up with 2,4,8 or 16 "mainlines"
