I'm the same way. I support local and care about what is inside not on the box. It's just a perception thing. A light is just such an important purchase . Similar to budget heart surgery or budget lasik eye correction, maybe even budget legal advice, I bet they are ok just not what jumps out at me as a quality product.....until you do the research and know it's good. like you correctly pointed out. Quality over marketing any day.

Well my plan changed and i was going to get a refurbished HLG 550rv2, but they are currently sold out. Budget led is doing a 4/20 sale so its looking like ill give them a chance when their series 3 stuff hopefully goes on sale. Getting the Series 3+ red spec 500w. Made in the good ol USA with good components, 3 year warranty, veteran owned and operated, seems like its worth taking a shot.

considering one of my other choices was the HLG 550 "eco" which is a new budget version, its a super close comparison at that point.

Budget used to have a profile here, anyone have any idea why theyre gone?

I emailed and asked a few weeks ago actually, they used to have a 10% off discount through roll it up and they said the site didn’t send them enough customers for them to continue with being a sponsor.
