HLG 600 with co2 enrichment

Probably gonna end up dimming them some, but you will have a great spread.
@Renfro hey Man U seem to know a bit so I began building ground up a room. I choose HLG above all and I wanted to inquire how to install them to a troll master I’ve ordered them already and I’d just like to have them controlled as well to dim and on/off I have 12 total help needed ASAP if u would like pics on build I can share as well

and here i thought 2 HLG 550 v2s was overkill for a 4x8 veg tray. my man here has 3 over a 4x8 tray
In that dept there is def more than enough lighting for real I’m not mad though but u could tak one of those light out and use that in a 4x4 space and get more for your buck!!!imo

Those Qb600s will run a lot cooler than two DE 600 HPS. I run two 550s over a 9x5 w/Co2 and it is more than sufficient. I’d run that third one in a separate tent or room. For over a decade I swore by my Ushio 600 HPS. Great end product with out the heating issues of a 1000 HPS. With these HLG550s there is far lesser heat than a 600HPS yet I get more umols per square foot as I can keep them 24 inches from the canopy.

Great info...so roughly 21w per sqft is good enough? I've got 2 hlg600's (620w) over a 5x10 that I'm building and I've been learning that's still not enough & 35-40+ w/sqft is a recommended for LED's.

I think that these recommendations for w/sq ft have quite some leeway. So many other little factors that are not obvious can affect different growers outcome. Sometimes feel that some people are throwing extra watts into a flower setup, to compensate for shortfall in other aspects of grow. Be it veg staging growth, or nutrition and environment.

Check this post here. Torontoke using a touch over 30w/sq ft. And that was with 8hr flower days I think. Sure makes you wonder when you see people pushing a lot of light with all the bells and whistles, co2 etc. 355g / 180w for a result of 1.97g/w in 47 calendar days. He might be using even less power now days. Another grower and example here. Much lower w/ sq ft.

So when you see people saying 35-40w, and they are using same or similar boards and product as you. Step back. Rather search out documented grow diaries. A setup with plants of varying heights might be raising lights high so those tall plants dont hit the light. And turning up power in attempt to get light to the shorter ones.

Look at the data HLG puts out for your product. And their guidelines. There is a sweet spot for mounting their products. If its too much you could always dim down.
