Growerslights.com has this but i have not seen it any where else.I believe i've seen the HLG guys say they are a legit distributor?

Kind of confused as i see the 550's are over a grand and this 600 is $674 unassembled.

Any info on this setup being offered by growerslights?

Ok so it is a light produced/built by them, figured this but wasn't sure.

Out of curiosity,Would buying my parts for a similar build be "that" much cheaper than the price of $674?

No that's the price for buying the parts... If you change the parts the price changes maybe I'm just not sure what your asking

If you factor in shipping price from ordering parts from different places you wont save squat, it will end up costing more. If quantumboards are what you want then ordering these kits will be the cheapest soloution, other then buying bulk directly from HLG them selves.

If you wanna go even cheaper you have to look into Samsung strips h or f series. Or bridgelux eb strips both of these will reduce cost by quite the chunk, ofcourse this means you have to build the entire light your self and wire it etc. Not that it's a difficult task, but it will take time to build them.

That deal from growerslights.com is essentially the same as the diy kit from HLG. But the guy at growerslights.com builds it for you for 35$. Pretty damn neat if you dont have the time or knowledge to Lego this up by your self ^^

I’m wondering the same thing, why is it so much cheaper then the HLG-550

We manufacture the HLG-550 in USA. The aluminum we buy we pay extra for American processed instead of Chinese (yeah I know not that big of a deal but we are trying). We custom CNC the Aluminum and process it here in the USA as well. Also the HLG-550s msrp represents a margin for retailers. You can find them in an ever increasing number of small mom and pops hydro stores. Again we are trying to support those people that have been supporting this industry for years. The HLG-550 can be had online for less than msrp if one looks around. The guys over at growerslights are good people and we let them offer kits as they fit our idea of good customer service. Not saying that all our retailers aren't great. Most just don't have the time to offer the service of pre assembly that growerslights does. Buying an hlg-550 also funds our future projects and development better lol. To put it out there and being totally honest. We make ok money but so far have invested over 100% of it back into the company. (the company still owes us money lol). In December alone we spent over 2500 in lab testing alone. When you calculate in the 10k we spent in Dec on prototypes that will never see the light of day you can see why we aren't ballin lol.

Buttttt you can know that we are hard at work basically for you trying to breaking the ceiling of efficiency. I know corny right lol.

Thanks again guys for being supportive of our efforts. If not for you we wouldn't be here.

Thanks for the detailed response! Excellent communication and customer service! I’m in Canada so everything here is far more expensive in the first place... even the 550 at face value is much cheaper in the US vs CAD site given the exchange but can’t argue with the quality, efficiency and customer service

Thanks for the input guys.

Yes i should have worded things a bit better.

I meant would it be cheaper to source my parts individually from suppliers. The price GL.com has of $674 is for a not put together unit.Just all you need for the build it self.I think it's an extra $50 to have them put it together and test it.

@Unagi answered.....it'll cost more as i'd be dealing with all the shipping prices.Strips and actual builds are down the road.Just lookin to get my feet wet in LED growing first.

@Stephenj37826 If i had hit the lotto last night i would purchase 3 of the 550's......just to show the appreciation that you guys show to your customers.

Another ?......the 600h is dimmable but needs a potentiometer........these need to be soldered correct?

Looking to order this tonight for myself as xmas is over and tomorrow is my birthday so it's time to spoil myself
