I got my HLG yesterday but waiting on seeds so haven't tested it out yet. Does it cover the 5x5 properly? Another guy said he would have preferred this light in a 4x4.

And can you tell me a bit about your setup such as light distance, are you using co2 or not, and are you using the light at the full 630w without issues?

It covers the 5x5 plenty...its hella bright. Im running it 100% now and its right around 3ft above the canopy. No co2

Isn't 3 feet too high? I use cm and 3 feet is like 90 cm, i thought it needed to be at like 75 cm ish

Pretty sure this light puts out too much at 100% if you aren't running CO2, you need supplemental CO2 to take advantage of how bright it is, otherwise just dim it a little.

Yeah i have been told by their support that co2 is required at 100% but maybe he is making it work since the height is at almost 36 inches? Obviously this would lose some efficiency on the wattage

I get bleaching at around 36 inches with my 650R , and I have CO2, my only light that does it. Bloody bright.
What do you think about the heat output like are you doing something to keep it down? And am i the only one that is worried about the weight? Most lights i've dealt with was just a couple kilos and this is a lot heavier, i'm worried it might fall down someday

I have a sealed room with aircon, running a shitload of other lights aswell. But yeah it puts out a bit of heat, same if not little more than a DE 600w HPS.

This is my first run with it but Im not experiencing any problems with it at 100%...it does run a lil warm but a small clip fan blowing directly on the top of the light helps alot and I have a 16 inch oscillating fan keeping the air moving around. My high temps are maybe 82-84.

Yeah at some point running it at 100% with no CO2 is just costing you electricity. Wish there was a way to calculate that cutoff point. Been trying to do everything I can to maximize efficiency.

How efficient in a tent are those co2 bottles you hang? Would I have to switch up fans or anything? Is it to late to start using co2?

Interestingly the guy that runs apogee, can't think of his name, says bleaching only comes from too much red light as ratio of total light. He says he has proven this experimentaly. I heard him saying it on a podcast, can't remember which.

It was in a big room with HPS and CMH lights aswell so wouldn't surprise me if it was getting an overlap and too much red spectrum, but I've never had bleaching like that under HPS, and it wasn't because of heat.

I run it with co2 and im at like 28 inches and im getting foxtailing at 100%. I have 4 other 630 cmh and my plants dont foxtail under those. Next run im putting it higher.
