Just received my HLG100 v2 and it came with a thin square of double sided sticky foam by 3M but no indication as to where it goes. Anyone know?

I would say that is how they intend for you to mount the power supply to the back of the board. Were there any screws included with your light?

Did you buy the light directly from HLG or through another vendor?

Bought it on Amazon and it came with a pair of nuts and bolts to attach the driver.

Only thing I can think of is it’s used as a spacer in between the driver and board to allow air flow? It’s very minimal though at maybe a couple mm thick.

If it came from HLG through Amazon you could ask Stephenj37826(just put an @ symbol before his name). He is HLG's CEO and a forum member here.

You could also call or Email HLG on Monday.

Is it a legit HLG product or a knock-off? If it's legit, just email HLG and ask.

Haha no biggie, Im just curious. I sent them an email so we’ll see what they say.
Me too. I honestly don't remember seeing any tape, but I do smoke a lot of weed anymore, and my memory isn't getting any better, lol. I'm tempted to check the boxes they came in and see if any tape is hiding in there. I have 3 in 3000k, and they are nice lights. I have some other HLG's too, some that I haven't even put together yet, lol. I went a little nuts when they still had the V1's for hella cheap.

The double sided tape is for securing drivers with male DC jacks (hlg 65/hlg 100) to the board.

HLG warns that the DC female board connector is easy to break off, they pretty much encourage you to mount the driver on the board.

They emailed me back and said the same thing. I don’t really see the need for it since they also included a pair of nuts and bolts which I trust a lot more than that little square of sticky foam.
