Holiday Help Needed(a.k.a. - leaf tips got lumps of coal for Christmas)

First grow and I'm having a lot of fun with this. However, this issue has been a mother trucker to resolve and I need some advice. As you can see, the tips of my leaves are turning on me. they seem to turn almost black at first, then the turn orange/amber and then white. I've racked my brain over all the potential issues but I can't figure out what it is that's causing this.

Here are the vitals...

girl scout cookies
indoor
hydro/DWC
CFL bulbs
hydroton
humboldt nutrients 3-part nutrient package with grow/micro/bloom( being fed 4mL per gallon of each nutrient this week) with cyco zymes added
2.5 gallon bucket
first week of flowering
12/12 cycle

feel free to ask for more info if that wasn't enough. any help is greatly appreciated.

I see some early Mg def in 3409. The mild yellowing between the veins. 1/4 tsp/gal epsom salt would be good. But, that might depend on what's causing the other issues. I haven't grown in hydroton.

Thanks for the reply! Any idea what might be causing the tips to turn black then white like that? I'm so lost on this one...

Usually nutrient burn. But, it looks different, like a ph problem. But, it could be specific to hydro.

What are is the temperature of your reservoir (I know that's a common question related to root rot). How often do you check the pH? How often do you calibrate your meter?

I'm sure hydro people will join in eventually.

Res. stay in the low 70s to high 60s. Using a Hanna digital pH meter that I calibrate ever 2 weeks or so. After my last pH reading this morning, I did a test with a liquid test kit. Color that showed was right on the money so I'm pretty confident that my meter is working correctly and that my pH is good, unless it staying at 5.85 is damaging the plant. Do you think it might need to swing up or down more? It's been pretty steady at that reading for a while.

Google "why i shouldnt grow DWC for my first plant cause i dont have all the necessary equipment yet and my roots just won't make it" and see if there's any info out there
