Home brew BHO with minimal butane

So i was looking into getting into the extract game.
My question is:

With the ebay/online vacuum purgers is it actually possible to achieve "safe" BHO to consume?

Practically 0% or as close to as possible of butane?
If this is so, can someone direct me to maybe some journals or something to show some purging techniques?

I dunno. I use tamisium. I weigh an exact amount of ntane into it, then recover with vacuum until that same amount is recovered, then purge once more with 100 degree warmer =solid oil results for me.

if you remove the same as you put in....seems "safe" to me. I know there are better techniques but this one has rocked it for years and years, nary an issue, no broken seals or leaky valves, just awesome for me. Paid for itself many times over

Butane cannot be safely purged from a resin, butane contains a ton of impurities including carcinogenic hexanes. If ya wanna schmoke it, smoke the herb or dry sifted resins, if you just need to injest it medically, coco butter extraction all the way! see my comment on arthritis post.

not sure what youre looking at on ebay,but i can tell you what NOT to buy(see pic).these pumps are complete TRASH!! unfit/unsafe to use indoors or for long periods of time.running this pump for over 30min will jump the motor temp up close to 150°f and they smoke lime a mofo.sound tight? its not.unless youre willing to invest in a rig like chem has id look for a different method.hash or rosin maybe.bho is dangerous,imo,im not a fan.gl

I distill my reservoir contents before using the new ntane.
i found breathing our air in the city to be extremely unhealthy with immediate consequences. When I shave ntane gets all up in the shower, when I cook with spray cooking oils the kitchen is full of these mystery butane oils too....meh, never made me cough like the first pull of a marlboro every morning when I used to use. Can you imagine how much butane is inhaled with each flick of a bic? or the little flint droppings in every bowl sparked? my throats itching man I gotta go now...

using my distilled solvent and running it dry I detect no residue. interesting fact=Using once again with a acetone cleaned ball bearing I can extract oil from the ball bearing, from steel wool and most any chunk of metal, oil is pulled, even more from an unwashed piece.

i understand your point.we can avoid some of these things,some we cannot.when it comes to extracting with butane,i choose not to.i feel the method and equipment i used was not efficient enough to produce a safe product.a lot of ppl who blow bho dont do it safely or properly to produce a 'clean' product.then they put that shit out on the street for profit.thats what bothers me.its so easy to make,so many vids,tutorials,posts.for every 10 positive posts there seems to be 1 negative post about bho.good.whats a little hysteria over the dangers of bho going to hurt? ppl have made plenty of money off of butane,chambers,heating pads and shitty pumps.as long as more ppl realize that maybe some of that killer shatter isnt as sweet as they think.there needs to be some middleground between caveat emptor and caveat venditor
maybe id feel differently if ppl had equipment like you,just dont think that will ever be reality.$100+ for a case of butane is all theyre willing to spend.
