Home Depot now in the Grow biz?

That actually seems like a pretty good deal. You gotta buy the lamps of course, but that seems reasonable for a 4' T5 fixture

I meant that you would need to buy these fancy narrow spectrum lamps that all the T5 fans seem to like. But yeah $125 with a few lamps to get you started sounds pretty good.

I love that they specifically mention clones in the description. Though I know you can clone other things besides ganja, but still that is definitely marketed to small growers. What else would they be growing?

Geez, seems like a waste of my first post but here goes:

I'm kicking myself after seeing this. I just picked up a brand new 4 bulb T5HO lighting system yesterday and paid well over 200$ for it. Mind you it's a high quality piece of equipment but so long as a tube fixture has individual reflectors, it's going to be great. When I expand on my veg station further into the winter I'll probably go for something like this.

Yea this isn't a BadBoy or anything but it's gonna do the trick JUST FINE.

whats bad about the bulbs it includes in this? are they not "blue" lighting? i've never messed with t5 or 8 so I don't know the deal.

There's nothing wrong with the lamps I'm sure. Can't be any worse than the majority of the fluor lamps out there. But with the T5's there are some rather "exotic" lamps available. I think they were mainly designed for coral aquariums and aquarium plant life. Very specific light wave lengths.

It has begun. Next week I predict they start rolling out Grow Hoods and will be carrying Advanced nutrients

man that's funny and a great change for us! they know we've been using them for a long time but they would pretend they didn't know what was up! now we're going main stream! this is a small but important step. very cool!

i always felt odd when i'd buy 4 or 5 big bags of soil and a couple huge bags of perlite. now i buy it with head held high. yeah, that's right, you know what this is for!

i still try to hide my licence plate number though and buy everything with cash! decades of being very careful will do that to you! there weren't so many cameras back in the day! :worried:

you can't scratch your ass without some camera catching it these days! i think of my misspent youth and the number of times i'd be in a parking lot and passing large packages from one vehicle to another. cameras would make things much more challenging. i'm glad i'm old and don't do stupid stuff anymore!

This is pretty cool. I've seen very similar fixtures at homedepot before but not specifically for growing and t5s. Gonna have to pick me up one or 2 for the veg room. Did anyone see which kinda bulbs it comes with exactly? Good for veg?
