the OP started this thread on plant's in his yard and you guy's have blowed it up to home invasion. Which is something totally different then some kid jumping a fence to snag a bud. I own 67 acres and if i would of killed every trespasser iv'e seen in the past three years since i bought it id off killed dozens. Killing is no fun boy's and you all talk mighty loose about it like it's a casual thing. I never wanna look down the barrel at anyone ever again, Plant's are not worth taking a life over wich is what this thread was about not home invasion. You wouldn't want to walk into my house while my family and i were sleeping cause we live way in the stick's and there wouldn't be anyone around to hear ya yelling for help.

You can't use deadly force to defend property!

Deadly force can only be used if life is in emminant danger. You cannot shoot someone for stealing from you. You will go to prison!

A few years ago there was a case where a land owner caught a tresspasser on his property (It was a fisherman cutting thru his property to a pond) The land owner leveled a shotgun at the tresspasser and the tresspasser pulled a handgun & killed the landowner. The guy pled guilty to tresspassing, the shooting was ruled 'self defence'!

If you escilate a simple tresspass or attempted burlgery to a deadly situation, YOU have taken it to another level! Then, they have the right to defend themselves. Being a tresspasser does not remove they're right to use deadly force if faced with it!

This is the problem with you liberal fucks in Cali.

The rest of the nations guns laws are not as fucked up as yours.

Ever hear of the castle doctrine? Look it up before you start shooting your mouth off about shit you have no clue about.

In the UK the government has just given us the go ahead to stab, to death if needs be, any burglars we find in our homes :)

If were talking a fence jumper after your weed (or anything else), put the guns away!

If were talking home invasion (& that means getting past my dog) then defend by any means necessary!

But I will be sure that when the jury hears my last words before using deadly force, they will be "Please don't kill me"!

Not some Dirty Harry "Make my day"! The jury needs to know you feared for your life!

Do you see me talking about jury trials? Cause that's where your headed if you use a gun!

Aye, there was a case a while ago about a farmer shooting a burglar with a shotgun at point blank, but it was because of a case recently where 4 masked men tried to break into a families house and when they did the dad, 59 odd, stabbed one, they ran off with the wounded guy then dumped him to die on the pavement. So the govt has decided that we can stab burglars. As you say, it's very personal, so you really have to know you havd to do it, not just a little bit scared pressure on the trigger m'lark. Funnily enough though, with this new power to stab to kill it's also worth bearing in mind these two points.

1. there have been cases fairly recently of thugs dressed up as the police talking their way inside then tying up and looting etc
2. the police actively burgal houses in the UK, especially in university areas, they sneak in through windows and such, go through draws and take any expensive items and leave them in swag bags to raise awareness, in one case the home owner was sat in her chair when the policeman walked in on her.

Things could get interesting. Guns are a funny thing here, just earlier this evening, in the same city as the stabbing, a couple of guys being taken by van to liverpool for "conspiracy to possess firearms with intent to endanger life" (if you speak about buying a gun or shooting someone, you'll get nicked) and the van was stopped by armed gang members who broke them out and twatted the driver on the head one :D what is the world coming to haha

I think they may have exteneded it to also cover your neighbors house, if you see it getting robbed.

I remember that famous case of the guy who shot the robbers robbing his neighbors house because he'd be damned if he let them get away. and i think he killed them and got off scott free. but they may have crossed though his yard on the get away. not sure.

The Joe Horn shooting controversy refers to the events of November 14, 2007, in Pasadena, Texas, United States when local resident Joe Horn shot and killed two men burgling his neighbor's home. Publicized recordings of Horn's exchange with emergency dispatch indicate that he was asked repeatedly not to interfere with the burglary because the police would soon be on hand.[1] The shootings have resulted in debate regarding self-defense, Castle Doctrine laws, and Texas laws relating to use of deadly force to prevent or stop property crimes. The illegal alien status of the burglars has been highlighted because of the U.S. border controversy.[2] On June 30, 2008, Joe Horn was cleared by a grand jury in the Pasadena shootings.

Burglary

Joe Horn, 61, spotted two burglars breaking into his next-door neighbor's home in Pasadena, Texas. He called 9-1-1 to summon police to the scene. While on the phone with emergency dispatch, Horn stated that he had the right to use deadly force to defend property, referring to a law (Texas Penal Code §§ 9.41, 9.42, and 9.43) which justified the use of deadly force to protect Horn's home. Horn exited his home with his shotgun, while the 9-1-1 operator tried to dissuade him from that action. On the 9-1-1 tape, he is heard confronting the suspects, saying, "Move, and you're dead",[3] immediately followed by the sound of a shotgun blast, followed by two more.[4] Following the shootings Mr. Horn told the 9-1-1 operator, "They came in the front yard with me, man, I had no choice!" [5]
Police initially identified the dead men in Horn's yard as 38-year-old Miguel Antonio DeJesus and Diego Ortiz, 30, both currently resident in Houston and of Afro Latino descent. However, DeJesus was actually an alias of Hernando Riascos Torres, 38.[3] They were carrying a sack with more than $2,000 cash and jewelry taken from the home. Both were convicted criminals from Colombia who had entered the country illegally, and were members of an organized burglary ring in Houston.[1] Police found a Puerto Rican identification card on Ortiz while Torres had three identification cards from Colombia, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic, and had been previously sent to prison for dealing cocaine and was deported in 1999.[6]
A plain clothes police detective responding to the 9-1-1 call had arrived at the scene before the shooting and witnessed the escalation and shootings, while remaining in his car.[3] His report on the incident indicated that the men who were killed "received gunfire from the rear".[1] Police Capt. A.H. Corbett stated the two men ignored Mr. Horn's order to freeze and one of the suspects ran towards Joe Horn before he angled away from him toward the street when he was shot in the back. Note: The medical examiner's report did not specify they were shot in the back.[7] Pasadena police confirmed that the two men were shot after they ventured into his front yard. The detective did not arrest Horn.
The incident touched off protests, led by Quanell X, that were met by counter-protests from Horn's neighbours and other supporters, with the New Black Panther Party protesters rapidly leaving.[8][9][10][11]

Wtf? How am I a pussy for wanting to defend my house? Your statement makes me think your just trolling on this forum. First, anyone who thinks I am a pussy for worrying about my security is obviously a dumb ass little kid.
If you wanna get robbed and not have a gun then by all means, get your shit swipped from right under you while your watching.
If you think hand to hand combat is any use vs someone with a gun who is more then 2-3 feet away from you then your more then a dumb ass little kid.
If you think hand to hand combat is any use vs 2+ people with a gun, deserve to get robbed.
I would only kill someone who I knew would kill me if I diddn't kill them first, and I would only harm someone who is on MY property robbing MY things, threatening MY family.

I don't give a shit if you served in the army, you have no right to talk shit about me because I don't want to get robbed.
Now its my turn to call you a bitch, idgaf who you are or what you did in the army. Your a fucking huge ass pussy.
Your served in the army not the marines, so watch who your calling pussy, pussy.

I think you should have multiple layers of security. If you think you can buy a shotgun and just point and shoot your sadly mistaken. At twenty feet the pattern is still about the size of a quarter, so you still need to practice and learn how to shoot. I think your first challenge is hiding your grow. Things that will help include growing corn, sunflowers, tomatoes, and peas. A green house would be ideal, but a dog run can work too. You can't watch your grow all the time but a tree camera and dog can deter and possibly help police / you catch criminals caught in the act. When it comes to guns, train well and learn your laws. I personally prefer a small carbine rifle over a shotgun for urban combat. Its what police use during raids and are a lot easier to shot.

Im not offended, your honestly too stupid to offend me enough to actually get mad.
You hate gun packing pussys, yet your trying to sound all tough by telling me if someone robs you then you'll shoot them, where no one is around to hear them cry for help.
You called yourself a pussy, I called you a pussy. I win.
Who the hell joins the army? Whudda bitch

Im probably not gonna be shooting them unless they enter my house, so getting a dog is definitely the route for me. Thanks for all the advice

You should through moron in there with pussy. If someone needs to shoot someone for jacking plants not only are they a pussy, but they most likely aren't very bright either.

I grew up in an area where people would pull guns for trivial bullshit. I've met a lot of people who do that shit. Most of them are total pussies who are only pulling guns because they walk around terrified all day and aren't smart enough to deal with life without resorting to bullshit.

I've had plants jacked before. Yeah, it fucking sucks. But I used my resources to find the guys who did it. As mad as I was, murder and guns never even crossed my mind. I have no need to resort to such things. At the end of the day plants aren't worth the kind of problems that come with such behavior.
