Hey guys, simple quick question for you guys.

I plan on buying:
Homebox S - http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/itemdesc.asp?ic=GRHB01&eq=&Tp=

250w HPS w/ batwing reflector - http://www.insidesun.com/1f59614e9a5c9ca3451f877b573ad87d.item

With an S&P fan. - http://www.hvacquick.com/spfnconfig.php?fm=td

This is going to be setup in my closet. I am going to be running auto-flowering plants, and maybe some clones from a lemon skunk after.

My questions are:
1) Which fan should i get if i do not get an air-cooled hood/cooltube?

2) The homebox is going in my closet, which will just fit the homebox, so there is no room for things sticking out....if i get a carbon filter and such, can i just have it vent into the closet and not have anything stick out? so it will be all in the tent?

3) Will i have heat issues without an air-cooled hood/cooltube if my ambient temps are ~68?

4) how many autoflowering plants can i fit in there (on average)?

Let me know, and if you have any comments/suggestions/pointers...let me know!!!

THANKS!:weed:

ok so i will satrt by giving you the most valuable bit of advice going here on RIU.

READ READ READ.

All your questions are easily answered if you do some reading here on the site.

Your questions are kinda vague.

How big is your room?

Second anytime you grow in a closet you will have heat issues this will be your biggest obstacle.

Cool tubes are almost a necessity.
I recomend building your own cool tube. Research DIY cooltubes.

As for which fan to use, that will depend on the size of your room. Google CFM calculator and input your dimensions. It will tell you the minimum CFM to exchange the air in your room. I recommend around 200 cfm for an average closet.

As for carbon filter, you will have to exaust your air out of your room somehow. you most likely will need a cool tube and use the air from your room as the intake.

The amount of plants is up to you depends on how long for flowering, how big your room is, and the strain. research about the strain you choose and find out how big the mature plants get, im not very knowledgeable on the auto's.

Good luck!!!! and as i said earlier read read read, its the best way to learn everythign you want to know. Never take one persons advice alone.

id get a air cooled 6'' hood for sure. that way u can hook carbon filter to 1 side..of hoood, and other attach ducting to a squirl fan. all that can be contained in the tent. squirl fan blow air out 1 of ur homeboxs vent. the key is to have the pane of glass with ur reflector, that way it suks the heat away from the bulb, and out of the tent via the carbon scrubber. you do need a fresh air ven for sure. it could be passive, like a dryer vent ran from a window and into the bottom of the tent at another access point. that way while ur exhaust is sucking away itll draw fresh air from ur passive intake, and exhaust hot air.

ok so i see the size of your tent now.

heat is going to be a problem.

you will need to exaust air continuously. you may have problems if the tent fits that snug into your closet. you need to have a supply of fresh air. and you need to exaust the air from in the room.

Do you have the space for exaust ducting?

yah i have done my research and i did all the cfm calculations and such and figured it all out, i was just wondering if i would need air cooled hood or not. I can have the closet door cracked if that helps, but cant mod the closet at all (No new closet doors, holes, ect).

Does anyone run a 250w in this space without air cooled hoods?
