homegrown herb just doesnt smell good

hey guys i just picked up some of my homeboys herb in town that he just got done growing. Thing is the weed looks awesome but it smells like its not ready yet or just it smells like its wet. Like it doesnt have that good weed smell and the stems are still a little soft.

my guy told me that his buddy just harvested it last week so maybe that why? anyways im growing some of my own herb so im kinda interested in what it is so that my herb doesnt wind up like this. thanks

is it cause he didnt cure it long enough? or did he harvest it too soon?

Sounds like it was not dried right nor cured at all. Properly drying then curing takes away that green taste and may bring out some great aroma and flavor. There are all kinds of threads on this in the FAQ. Good luck to ya!

Ya if he just harvested last week, and your already smoking it, its most likely it wasn't dried well, or cured at all. I had a friend that got me 3 bags over a 3 weeks period from the same grower. The bud looked good, but the first bag was too wet, the second had been dried and was much better, and the third I guess he had in the freezer or something, and it was still wet. Drying doesn't take that long, and curing just makes everything better. Its a shame to spend all the time growing it, only to half ass it to get it on the street a week or 2 sooner.
