@hostagecs the inspiration is probably the tom's tumbler trimmer.
Looking to build something similar myself this season.

I'm under the impression that the bud needs to be pretty dry, in humidity numbers 60% or even bit below.
How big are your holes there? Tom's tumber has 12mm + 6mm screens for trimming. (1/2 and 1/4in, i think)
And I suppose there is too slow tumbling or too fast. But I don't have the experience..

Interested to hear your results on it though.

gotcha, im all for something that saves my forearms, i just never seen something like that

The mesh is 1/4 ...thank y'all for feedback I tested it but material wasnt the cured to 62% it worked somewhat but lil buds didn't do anything but roll around material has to be stemless

the biggest difference i think i see in setups is the cage material you used, im unsure if the rounded edges will cut the same as a flat edge

ive herd of mesh being used, but never chicken wire fencing , you will get huge chunks of weed comming through the size of holes you have there. and its very important to use the fully dried buds. its a work in progress though, your on the right lines, kudoes, ill be watching this thread

Right, the 1/4inch is the smaller size one in the Tom's tumbler trimmer.
I was thinking going for 10mm so bit smaller holes than the 1/2inch one.
Could have smaller one for tighter trim/for smaller nugs aswell.

Yea, apart from having it cut down to relatively small nugs I think the moisture is big part of it.
Like trimming by hand when they are nicely dried,
ya could pretty much touch them by finger and they come out nicely.
I think that would be a sweet spot for tumble trimming.

At 15-20second of the video is something I've had dreams about.
Me hand trimming and the leaves are dropping at that pace.
