Hi, I just got done jarring a batch of hard cider that had been working since December. I put in a cup of sugar and an orange and some raisins per gallon, but it still turned out kinda sour. It doesn't bother me though because I like eating granny smith apples right off the tree. This batch seems to be fairly strong as well.

nice, i made some watermellon/kiwi/strawberry wine that came out just awefull lol. watermellon is defo a juice that needs experience. on the plus side my apple cider came out pretty decent. would have been much better if i had bottled it and let it sit for 6+ months.

i used lots of cinimon, brown sugar and some nutmeg, had a real festive taste to it.

I don't brew myself but I've been hooked on the everclear that my buddy has been making for the last year. 190 proof = 95% alcohol, best stuff ever! Doesn't get you drunk it gets you high with no hangover at all. 1/2 oz or an oz in a big glass of O.J. cut with some Mango is the way to go with it. You can go from beer to shine but you can't go from shine to beer for whatever reason. Last bottle I had I used to make some of the best hash I ever smoked in my life! I need to get a still of my own A.S.A.P.!

I haven't made any "wine" since I got out.

2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup of baker's yeast (what you going to do, they don't stock brewer's yeast in the joint.) A couple of those orange juices from breakfast Tuesday and Thursday, a dozen oranges from Wednesday's lunch and Friday's dinner. 1 gallon of water. Use your hotpot (you modded it to boil first, right?) to make a simple syrup. Add the syrup to your juice/fruit and remaining water (Use 2 of the small cell garbage bags to mix it.) After it's cooled to room temperature, add your yeast. Shake the hell outta the bags, and place in an outta the way place (or have someone on the yard crew bury it for you.) After 3 days, strain it through some emptied tea bags, and bottle in the 20 ounce coke bottles you've been secretly saving up...

I made a tincture with everclear this year, that shit gets you real lifted in a big hurry, I'd highly recommend trying it

Lol I never made any shit like that in the joint but I'd trade soups for it when it was done lol. I never thought it tasted bad but there would always be people that bitched and complained about not having the real thing smh

This can also be done in your tent when you're out in the bush treeplanting, as I learned from my crusty, street-punk buddy!
