Homemade Bubbleponics system HELP!

I recently just help set up a Homemade Bubbleponics system and to compare it to a SH bubbleponics system. The Homemade system has a bigger tub and bigger pots with a more powerful water pump. It is running under two T5 Fluorescents with 110w. I plan on switching to a 400w HPS for flowering. The SH system is running under a 430w HPS the whole time. We started with clones and so far the SH system is doing a WHOLE lot better. The clones for the homemade system are drooping and turning yellow and brown. The homemade system is using FoxFarm Grow Big nutrients. I added about 4.5 teaspoons of the solution to about 10 gallons of water. The lights for the homemade system started inches away from the plants until the leaves looked as if they were getting heat stress so they have been moved to about two feet from the top of the plants. What is going on? Why is the Homemade system failing so much? I'm is desperate need of some advice.

1) Check PH
2) Check PPM
3) Check Temp of air.

4) If all of those are fine, check the amount of air coming out of the air stones. After a while the stones may get salt buildup and have seriously reduced air output - essentially drowning your plants.

5) Check the roots, are they still white/creamy colored?

6) After all of that, flush the roots with cold clear water and reduce the PPM concentration by 50% for a few days until conditions improve then slowly ramp up the ppm nutrient concentration again. Keep the light far away.

Hope that helps! :weed:
