homemade insecticidal soap

i began to notice tiny caterpillars munching on my buds, along with a few aphids. i made a solution of 1 tsp. organic dish soap to a cup of water and sprayed this on my plant. has anyone had any experience with this insecticidal soap. has any body harvested and/or smoked upon such buds.

I would ask you to not embark on such a remedy, it can cause sporadic browining of leaves and later can cause rust spots. its a killer.
