you have to read it first , but i guess fungi's are not exactly similar to plants

Of course somebody could also ask for reasons why anybody would vote for Obama OR Romney ? Don't both advocate U.S. empire, government expansion and war on pot smokers?

Romney has come out and said he is not for government expansion and Obama has shown that he is not prone to it. War on pot smokers? One wonders Rob, if maybe it now has more to do with big business than government.

I believe I asked you in a different thread to provide a source where Obama says he's going to wage war on pot smokers. Don't think I ever got a reply.

That kind of stuff is interesting to me. like the bio reactors that are become more efficient every year. Using organisms to give us usable fuels.

you know how yeast converts sugar into co2 and alcohol. The ethanol-alcohol produced can be used as a fuel. So now scientist are experimenting with many different types of organisms to see if any of them produce a better fuel at higher efficiency. You can think of the reactors like a grow room for micro organisms that maintain the optimum condition's for fermentation(synthesis of fuel). They look complex because they control everything from temperature, pressure, and nutrients to pumping in the right mixtures of soluble gas to speed up the process.

Its only a matter of time until we are able to fill up from the reactors in our back yard. Some of the reactors use the sun to grow the cultures.

I'm not so sure about this one. Life is awesome at degrading molecular poisons. But radioactivity comes from atoms, which life rearranges but does not transmute. cn

I've got this one ... I'm a retired chemist

Iron and sulfur exist in different oxidation states. This is an electronic (molecular) property. Plants and animals ae excellent at messing with the electrons. in fact, the reduction/oxidation chemistry of iron and sulfur was probably the energy source that allowed life to organize itself in the first place. I guarantee you no nuclear changes were meant by the phrase. cn
