Hormone Release?

ive read a few places here and there that say you can release the final hormones by putting a nail threw the trunk of the plant.
this is supposed to be done at the last day or two of flowering right before harvest.
its to release the final hormones of the plant because it thinks death is imminent.
i think it was supposed to be done in pure darkness for the last day or 2 still not sure of the times.

anyone heard about this or should i be keeping my bible and bong seperate?

(no offense to religious individuals)

I've not heard of this before, but the logic makes sense to me, and if youre light starving it the last two days before harvest, it seems this would rely on the same principle. I'd say it shouldn't hurt much, the buds have already formed up and won't be hurt by -at the worst- going a lil thirsty due to lack of uptake, I'm only 6 days into flowering so I have a while to go still, try it on one of yours when its time and let us know :-)

There was another thread asking the same question a week ago about the nail in the trunk...didn't follow it beyond the first initial few posts...but the older growers were all over that saying "yeah, that's bullshit"...Got any links to reference the technique in question?

Nail in the trunk will only hurt your plant, not help it. It doesn't make it release "final hormones", it makes it slow down it's THC production so that it can try and repair it's self, so that it can make any seeds if some pollen happens to float it's way.

dont do this!this is a religious belief that was thought to make plants more potent or some bullshit. i,ve heard of putting opium and stones in trunk but, please use common sense, all this will do is stress the hell outta the plant......peace brim
