The enhanced spectrum is well worth it, these bulbs put off less green light and more red and blue which the plants can use.

The agromax bulbs are cheaper, and have right about the same specs as Hortilux. I love them. THey have the enhanced blue spectrum, and the 600 watt puts out 95,000 lumens

The agros arnt really cheaper if your shopping around and if you use a refractometer they over estimate thier output by quite a bit actually

I havent used the new solarmx bulbs but they are specviifically designed for new digital ballast yet i have never had any issue with any bulbs and digital except some cheapo eikos I bought as emergency back ups..They melted

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to get it. It's just that there are more options when you jump up to 400w. With a 250w ballast I only have one option besides the standard HPS.

I know of four different manufacturers for 250-watt HPS bulbs, and there may be more that I do not know of.
Other than general overall quality there is not a major difference in any of them but there are some slight differences.
The color spectrum rating in all but one is the same but the lumens ratings do vary somewhat.

Color me impressed. None of the stores I shop at, local or online carry that many. It's just a standard HPS or the Super Agro.
