Not sure i understand the first question other than.. chaning the timing on your Timer if you are using one.. Aka.. 10 AM to 4AM = 18/6 | 10 AM to 10PM = 12/12...

and Molassas.. make sure its unsulphered.. and i use 1 Tsp per 1 Gal Water ever *Other* watering.. though some use 2tsp per 1 Gal Water Every watering..

Also since you are using HPS / CFLs get some 2700K Soft White CFLs for Flowering.

And if you mean.. how do you get your Plant to realize its time to flower.. it will basically notice that its getting less light / more dark.. Then it will think that "Frost" is comming blah blah and its going to come to the end of its life cycle.. and start producing buds..

i have 4 26w 2700k cfls.. that part i know.. i just dint know how to work in the 12/12 light schedule from 18/6.. like leave the lights off for 24 hours then switch the timers or what.. thats what i really NEED to know.. thankx...

it would make sense to set the timer to turn on exactly the same time u had it on for when u had 18/6

so if u started at 6AM on a 18/6 schedule, you'd turn it on at 6AM, but this time instead of 18 hours, set it so it's only 12 hours, so 6PM night.

I would like to know this aswell. I have turned the lights off for 24 then put on a 12/12 cycle and have never had any probs before.

I have heard people say that they saw signs of flowering sooner after they had gone 24 hrs dark. I have never tried it always just thought it was BS.

Bottom line...either way you will be fine.

switch to 12/12 as soon as the plants look mature enough to flower, i.e. staggering nodes, preflowers, etc. Like they said, you want your "dawn" to be the same time as it was during 18/6. Switch to bloom nutes as soon as you see the first signs of female flowers, aka pistils

thank ya'll for helping me with this.. cuz its been freakin me out bout the time switchin'.. dont know y.. i really needed this help..

Another ? attached to this same post... I just switched my plants to flower yesterday, but, i put the time at a more convenient time of day for me to check them with the lights on.. So instead of being off 12 am - 6 am for my veg i made them 9 am to 9 pm, is this bad?

Its what is best for you! You can have them come on and off at any time you want.

thats a great answer cuz i was veggin at 10pm/4am.. i did deceide tonight to put them in flowering mode. the timer is on 10/10am now.. not sure if i really like that time, we'll see.. i will change it if that doesnt work well for me.. thanks DB..:peace:

Running the lights at night works best for me. Its easier the keep the room cool. Also, I have tried the 24 hour dark period before going to 12/12 and didnt notice any difference

Before switching to 12/12 off i like to flush the plants till all the froth dissapears you will see what i mean then put them under 12/12 off 2 days later wet the plants through with the nutrients that you are useing.Make sure that you have the lights has close has 6 ince of the tops put your hand under if it is just warm then leave them be they will yeid 10 time's the ammount a leggy plant would.Leggy plants are a waste of space risk everthing do everthing in your power to get them lights close.Make sure that you change the nutrients over to bloom make them has you need them this way the ph will be bang on.

they are doing well for the first night/day of 12/12.. i woke up this mornin' n they were so happy to see me..lol.. all perky.. so i am pleased with that.. thank god.. BTW since this thread is started how can i post pix, i just took some so u all can see what they look like @ 31 days old n give me some opinions or advice.. to me they look wonderfull.. but then that IMO.. thanks again every1..
