How am I doing?

my plant sprouted 2 weeks ago and has been under this piece of crap reading lamp ever since. i havent used any nutrients on it, and my grow space is under my old bed which has 2 feet of space under it. the light is clipped on the bed under it. next to it is an air purifier set on medium positioned a foot and a half away from the plant blowing air onto it. (which i am hoping will make it develop a stronger stem) i think my plant should be bigger than this. but the light is really crappy, i should be getting a new one maybe tonight.

i also threw in a pic of the crappy-ass reading light too.

theres a pale orange dry spot on one of the first leaves, i figure this is just a burn from the light right? the other leaves look fine to me, you be the judge.

also any recommendments and suggestions are welcome. i'm new to this and this is my first grow. and i forgot to add that the plant will be transferred to my closet when i get the new light.

halogen lbulbs are useless to grow with, totally wrong track you are on at the moment, get CFLs that are in the 6500K range! that is the way to veg in small grows;) pot sice is just okay, it really shouldn't be bigger, is that a clay or plastic one?
plant lightly started to stretch since the light isn't in the efficient range... after you got some CFLs for the grow, get them an inch away from the tops, at the best in horizontal set up for above and vertical only for between;)

but besides that you are fine:)

oh you will soon need a new spot to grow, until veg isn't over your 2ft just be okay, but until you want to flower that 2ft will be just eaten up by the pot and a 1ft of plant totally;)

i don't know what light it is, it was used my father's girlfriend's ex-husband for his grows.

i have a thick blanket covering the side of the bed where the opening is. the sides are cracked an inch and i have an air purifier which i am using mainly for the fan, which is ventilating it pretty good.

the pot is clay, is this bad?

and i will get some cfls. the only problem i have with them is what am i going to hook them up to? theres no lightbulb outlet under my bed, could you name something i can buy separately to put the lightbulb in?

the clay pot isn't bad, just watch out that the water can drain well from it. the thing is with clay pot, i had to learn that once, that they got just hole in the center and water can be locked then in the pot if the tray below it has no groves to lead it away:-|

that light is a halogen, got the same in my office, it is useless for grow, believe me on this one;) get 2 27-47W 6500K CFLs to replace it and you will do way better. maybe rebury the seedling till lower set of leaves too;)

get the CFLs an inch away from the plants top and sides.

do you got sidewalls in your grow that would stop the light from "disappearing"? you should get at least white paper sheets out there to reflect the light back. wooden walls painted flat white would be far better really:)

also a bit bigger ventilation set up wouldn't harm sooner then later;)

and with fixing a new light in there, get to home depot or walmart and buy standard light sockets, E27 type i guess it is, fix them to a batten or flat white aluminum or plastic (watch out that the plastic must be heat resistant!) or search for home-made reflectors here at the forum;)
