almost a month to be able to buy legally? it makes no sense and its getting me agitated. i have serious problems that cannabis alleviates and now i am supposed to wait to alleviate these problems? its bs. how did you guys cope with this inane pokicy? ps you can probably tell i havent smoked in a while.

Have you ever medicated? How? Most of us don't cope with the insane policy, we just welcomed it and thought: Wow, we are legal now!?

It gives instructions on the MMP website; but know also that your Dr. rec. alone protects you to medicate - it just does not stop arrest for use or possession.
Once you have a Dr. rec. you don't even need a card to prevail in Court if you don't mind chancing arrest.
The MI supremes just ruled on that a while back.

It's the law, because no one wants to risk dealing with someone that could be illegal/legal that's why you have to wait 21 days, If you don't like the laws move to a state that doesn't make you wait, you dealt with things before maybe do what you were doing before until then?

thats the entire reason i decided to get legal was so i could have access to medicate. i could only get it illegally through friends of friends. and that took too much time to set up. not everybody who uses marijuana has been using it for years and knows how to get it. i thought thats what the dispensaries were for. apparently not. well not if you dont have access to them.

I'm saying if I was a cop, I'd do what you're doing then try to find me a bleeding heart to meet up and take a little cash for a donation of meds to help me out in the mean time while I'm in the process then BANG! got me one without even trying. I'm probably way off but that's what I would do if I was a lazy cop or cop with a hard on for MM.

to gladstoned: i am getting legal. mailed my documents into lansing on the 20th, same day i got my doctors rec. to cory and trevor: that would be entrapment and not legal. i know that because i saw that shitty sean connery movie. and besides, nobody trusts a 'stranger', which is why nobody has offered to sell me shit. which means that this would be an excercise in pointless futility. in reality i just wanna smoke some weed.

I don't want to start a pissing match but you say entrapment and they say good police work. they can lie. they can misrepresent themselves and the situation. saying "cops can't...." is a dangerous way to think, cuz they can and 99% of the time will. I hope you're legit, hope you find your buds and have a happy day but I'm calling it like I see it and it still scares me to have a "stranger" asking stuff like that. hope you get help but it won't be from me til you got a hard card! much love and good luck in your search.

Some people are getting their cards back before the 20 days is up! Now I haven't seen this shit personally, but I have heard some rumors. If I had my paperwork, my ass would be calling every craigslist ad, limping into dispensaries coughing and shit. Fuck it's no different then me waiting outside the party store and within 4-5 people someone was cool enough to buy my beer for me when I looked to young to buy it myself. I can't be the only one on here that did that shit. If you sent your shit in on the 20th then you should be able to verify your check or money order was cashed. That is legal in many people's eyes

Exactly! You should be able to go on you bank's website and print off a copy of the front and back of the check you sent the state showing that it was cashed. The state ONLY cashes your check of you're approved so that should be enough proof for most people that you're legal.

ive been calling to see if my money order has been cashed since i mailed it. its still outstanding. i have a dispensary who will letme buy as soon as its cashed and im hoping thats tomorrow.

Many people getting their cards know patients and/or caregivers to help out until your garden/your caregivers garden is producing. Technically you're legal with proof the paper work was mailed(certified), until they send you a rejection or card. So your paper work and proof it was mailed is your safe guard till your card comes in.

Question: Do I need to keep a copy of my application and any other information I send to the MMMP?
Answer: Yes. If your application has not yet been approved, denied or terminated you may provide law enforcement with a copy of your written documentation submitted to the department; you must also submit proof of the date of mailing or other transmission of the documentation. This documentation shall have the same legal effect as a registry identification card, until such time as you receive your card or you have received notification that your application has been approved, denied or terminated.

You should have used a personal check, that way you could have proof it was cashed to carry with you in your paperwork while you wait for your card. My first time my check was cashed in 2 days and my card didn't show up for 8 months.
