My friend who been growing 30+yrs recommended the hlg550 r spec so I know it's really good but I found this other one for about 350 less. I cant decide looking for some opinions! First 3 pics are hlg 550r spec last 3 are the series 3+ red spec 500w from budget grow lights.

HLG > BudgetLED

You get what u pay for. Unless ya build it yourself (most DIY quantum boards, smartest way to go)

Yea I know the quantum boards are sweet that's got sure. But most led lose 5 percent of there power per year even quantum boards.

Yea they will work for even longer then that but check out migro on youtube I guess I only heard it from him so might not be true. What do you run? You organic or? I'm doing the living soil!

FF Ocean Forest mixed with FF Happy Frog 50/50......I add one solo cup of extra worm castings and 2 solo cups of perlite to 5 gallon fabric pots.

Yea I heard different things about that soil. But whatever works for you is good I cant really say bc I havent used just those soils on there own. Do you use any nutrients or those just till flower then you do nutrients? You going organic yea?

No, I bought the HLG 550V2 Rspec in a package deal........from Home Depot! I suggested last year TO Home Depot to work with HLG, and they followed through. But I have spent lots of money over the yrs AT Home Depot.

The light, a shit 4 x 4 I threw away with a cheapo aluminum 4" inline intake fan for $1040 last summer.

Never get a HydroCrunch grow tent, u will end up tossing it. Pin holes galore, front zipper broke in a few months.

I use FF liquid nutes, they are designed for their soil........no issues yet, no pm, no bugs

and if u run the boards low your not gonna lose 5% idk where u heard that lol if u run boards at like 150 a pop yeah no shit your going to make them last less longer got a 550 from 16-17 and I just changed out the driver because I didn't like the 480 driver that was in switched it to a 320a on the 480 it was running like 130 a board that's to much for my I like running 90 and under I run them at like 2.7 efficiency very nice doesn't run hot at all

That's awsome man if that's been working for thats awsome what kinda strains you been running? Have you tried autoflower?

Haven't ran autos, though. I need a powerful sedative high, daily smoker 50 yrs.........I don't think autos have the potency. A local dealer grows autos in hydro or soil, its "mids" at best.
