So I'm going to be purchasing a 1000w hps system on saturday, I'm opting for the 6' vented hood as well, because 1000 watts runs hot especially in the summer.
I had a question or two before i get started though...mainly this problem i have.
:-?

IF MY ROOM IS
4 and a half feet wide,
6 and a half feet long
and 8 feet ceiling to floor...

how many cfm will my fan need to work? Will this booster fan be enough if I keep the ducting very short and direct with only one vertical bend to the ceiling?

I might buy this if it will.

They dont list the cfm but there are others on ebay that do list the cfm for around this price. I cant really afford the bigger blower fans and I need a cheap alternative!

(TECHNICAL AS FUCK I KNOW )

Any help is greatly appreciated. Just how many cfm do i need?
Thanks. I'll give rep if you help.-

that is most affordable and works well. PM me i can get you a good deal on it if you want. but that is the best option for you it will run nice and cool with that fan on it

In order to exchange the air in your room once a minute you need,

4x6x8=192CFM

Now this is only for air exchange and not cooling.

I would recommend running around 400CFM's if you plan on COOLING the 1000w and scrubbing the air in 1 system.

I would say for that amount of sq. feet (234), you should probably shoot for an 8" inline fan, which would give you a CFM in the 700 range. Just my 2 cents.

Just to clarify, we do not cool with fans. Depending on the fan and room size we can bring the grow room temps close to the temps that the room has from which the air is being drawn from. That is it! For cooling we need A/c. We can remove heat with a fan, but we can't cool.
OK, now that that is out of the way, I'm with midnight joker, 8" hood, 8" fan, 8" ducts. Best performance for your configuration.
