I just got a 51inch 3d plasma. 1000$...greatest deal ever. Everything is so crisp, rich deep colors and no snow on my blacks. Ideal for movies/hd video games/sports/tv. Just have to be semi aware of the burn in possib, BUT they have come a long way since plasma was considered new/ "inferior". The pixels shift ~4 pixels every 3 mins to ensure the image is moving. If it does ghost it will prob last less then a min and be minimal. Plus for bad cases you an run a program on the tv that sends a bar over your screen to reset the whole screen to normal.

For led/LCD you want 1080p capabilities. High refresh rates (120 and up these days.) hdmi ports are a must these days for the best connections.

3d is nice but glasses are necessary and cost 75+ each....you wouldn't think it but the 3d is amazing on my tv.

Plasma is the way to go in my mind, unless you are extremely careless. Then I would suggest LCD or led, but LCD is expensive and led is even more.

I only buy Sony and samsung tvs.....cop a ps3 too, best investment IMO, vodeo games and a 3d bluray player.

Samsung or sony.Just make sure to read reviews on the model to make sure it dont got any problems.

I'd say you can get something nice for 800-1200.I'd definitely get a 3d one

Panasonic 51 inch plasma, 2-3 years old. Go for quality if you have HD, a crap tv will show its flaws

13 inch t.v. in my bedroom. I don't watch much t.v. Living in rural New Mexico takes me outside quite a bit and that's a lot more fun that sitting around watching a box. :p

42" and 32" LG's used as computer monitors for past 5 years, great value, both work superbly. On the whole most tv's from big name brands are gonna work and work well, but as has been said, always check out a couple of reviews of a model that catches your eye, every so often theirs a model to avoid.
