I have never grown before. I have a small space packed away in my closet and i was ganna try to get two plants going in it. Its to small for the stronger lights so i have to use the energy efficient ones. The only thing is i dont know how i should set up the lights and what not. Can anyone help?

go to home depot. buy as many cfl's as you can, at least 2 or 3. buy the socket/reflectors that are like 6 bucks. shine the light on the plant, and voila. . .

MAKE SURE while you're in the vegging stage you go with "daylight" CFLs (they'll also say 65k on the package).. they put out more BLUE light (like the spring/summer sun)

Then when you switch to flower use "soft white" CFLs which are more yellow/orange like the harvest sun

It may not seem that big of a deal which you use, but trust me IT IS... I was using soft whites for veg, then even had a HPS going, but they didnt start doing well in veg until I got 5 23watt daylight CFLs on them

Also, you can make a CFL "chandelier" with a powerstrip...

Hang the powerstrip horizontal, but upside down. At Home Depot or Lowes (found at one but not the other) you can get sockets that have a two-prong male plug on them... plug three into the strip (spaced one plug apart).. THEN, you can also get Y-splitters for sockets... get three for each socket, and you can hang 6 CFLs from a powerstip, hanging over your plants

A link you my grow is below... I dont use them anymore, but you can chekc it out... here are a couple pics..

This is when I mistakenly first used soft white CFLs for veg

45 days later they were FINALLY starting to take off after I got Daylight CFLs going...
