How can I help my baby stand up on her own??

Hey,

My baby is about a week old and as of yesterday she keeps falling over.

I heard keeping her by a fan strengthens the stem but is that true?

So what is the best way to keep her strong?

if it's in soils you can bury it up to the first set of leaves. add more soil or put it in a deeper pot. fill it right to the bottom of the first leaves. it will thank you.

yeah, that's what I did my first grow when the plants stretched. you can also use a straw around the main stem.

however, the BEST method is to use a fork to hold it up. simply shove the end of the handle into the soil and rest the stem gently on one of the prongs...

no, that's a joke - don't do that!

Bury up to the first set of leaves, and get your light closer so it doesnt happen again. A fan is not optional- you need one in your room recirculating air, in any setup. A very gentle breeze is enough to stimulate the stems for strong growth.

I am going with the straw idea, Thanks alot but if I do that can it effect the growth at all?

You can put a measuring stick in the ground, maybe like a wooden dowel or something and then just use some twist ties or what not to hold it up. Anyways, beef up your lighting. If you're using CFLs try to double how much usable light you have. And move them in as close as possible to the plant. Do you get reflective mylar hung up? I bet this would help. Also, a rotating fan on low will help toughen up the stems.

Can't wait until the buds start to grow.

the use of a fan will tuffin the stems, i use a fan, but i also massage all stems, what i mean by that is, i take each stem, and branch, and bend it back and forth, all the way up and down the entire stem/ branch. i do that daily for about a week, at that time, they should all be alot stronger. i also do the same process during the 4th week, the reason for that is, nitrogen builds up in the stems, about the 4th week the plant needs very lil nitrogen, by massaging the stems, it dislodges some of the nitroget that was kinda stuck in the stems. this will alow the inside of the stems to transfer more nutreints to the budding plant.

Something I used when my babies couldn't stand on their own were doses of H2O2 (hydrogen Peroxide) - the stems became thicker and the leaves got larger...

hope that helps...
