how can i stop this?

ok i've had my babies under a 400 watt hps light.they look like they are fine they grew about 1 1/2 inches in a week half almost two weeks i guess but they seem to have big fan leaves,idk if the stem can handle the weight of the leaves cuz i heard hps light stretches the plants is this tru? if it is how can i make the stem stronger to be able to support they leaves they had a gud root system b4 transplant shud i bring the light closer? the light is about 18 inches from the small ones which is the ones im talking bout...they look real gud jus need sum advice.

put a breeze on them and the stem will thicken up
and hps in veg will stretch

put an oscillating fan in your grow room, it will make your plant grow a super strong stem system.

alrite thanks alot guys i jus did dat hope that they cum strong fast cuz they starting to get top heavy a lil, is it ok to cut the fan leaves off them or will dat shock dem? they are pretty big leaves.

if ur worried about them makin it thru the night,u can always stake them up with a straw or something

tie strings around the branch to the roof of ur grow room or steak it up, it will be fine, and no, don't cut those fan leaves

theres a few things you can do without a fan to strengthen the stems.

you can slap them from side to side daily from an early age

you can start at the bottom of the plant and bend the stem from side to side as you slowly work you way up

you can start at the bottom and rub the stem firmly between your thumb and finger as you work your way up

plants are very resilient aslong as you dont fully snap the stem then any small damage you cause will be repaired quick and thicker
