Week 3 in flower... My light is about 2ft away from the tops. Can I and should I lower as close as I can without burning them?? Or give them a couple inches to breathe?? Thanks

what light are you using is the key question...if it is a cfl you can get it as close as possible to the plants...but if its a 400 watt hps bulb (or something similar) you can put your hand above the tops and the lower the light until you can feel heat on your hand (point being that if the buds are warm from the light they are too close)

but at the end of the day this is my preference, and is my safe-haven for growing...if you would like to experiment with closer lights by all means go for it and let us know if it increases your yields!

good luck and happy growing!

600 watt hps.. its cool to the touch, its in a air cooled reflector.. I lowered it to about 14" above the tallest collas.. It was about 26".. Every little counts right?

"every little counts right?"

like every little adjustment counts? because I agree with that statement... Also I would say that 14'' is definitely enough space especially if it is cooled

Depends on how well it spreads out.
If you have you light three inches from the tops it wont spread as well as if it was eight inches from the tops.
It can be as close as 6" but you want to make sure you are getting the light coverage you want on the sides.
