??how do brake down chlorophyll from harvested bud??

i was wondering what the process was to braking down chlorophyll in leaves n bud after the bud has been cut from the plant, i know there is a natural procees but not realt sure how it happens, i also realy wanna know if there is anyway to speed up the process??????????

i have harvested bud and am air drying it with fans, it is hanging in a dark well ventilated room at a steady 20'c

is there anyway i can get rid of that grassy tatse quicker than curing properly??

does any1 know about how to brake down chlorophyll in plants or a sloution to what i want

any input welcome and thanx in advance:joint:

I'm no expert by no means, but from what I have read, it's just a waiting game with the chlorophyll. If dried and cured all the way correctly, you will get the most potential out of your buds, but you already know this.

As for a way to speed it up, I am unsure, but if there is a way (someone probably knows), it could have effects on the quality. ?? I'm curious to see what others say.

im very curious also, i do know that the natural process is that it will eventualy brake down iteslf in 7-10days, i ASSUME that it brakes down and dispates into the surrounding air with the evaporated water????

as for drying fast i dont wanna force dry as it will deffo effect quality and more importantly taste.

any1 got any ideas??

thanx fenni for ur input:joint:

I know there is a way to cure with salt water. However I have never tried this because of the warnings from other RIU members saying the negatives greatly outway getting to smoke a few weeks early. Wish I could give you some advice to speed it up, but IMO your best option is to just be patient

You CAN water cure it, FASTER, but then it has NO taste.

We CURE pot, to make it taste sweeter, smell sweeter, to avoid bud-mold, to make it more Smokable, to get the chemical and clorophyll taste out, and to increase the potency. A GOOD cure takes 4 weeks, and some conisours (mispelled) cure it up to 6 to 8 weeks.

The idea behind curing was learned from tobacco growers. Curing is a biological process of allowing the SUGARS and STARCHES to change into something MORE pleasant to the taste and smell. Normally the SUGARS and STARCHES taste HARSH and not so pleasant. To grow, Plants need SUGARS that convert into starches from Fertilizers and sunlight. Curing also removes alot of clorophyll or the clorophyll taste that is sort of a grassy leafy medicine chemical taste and leaves a sweet tastey pleasant taste.

Also, we cure pot to avoid MOLD that can come within 30 days AFTER Drying.

We cure pot in jars, in darkness, in a cool place. After being placed in the jar, we store them in a dark cool place, then we re-open the jar once a day, smell it, inspect it, let it breathe for a few seconds and then re-seal it. IF we smell an unpleasant "nose pinching" smell, or see white growth, we need to immedialtey remove it from
the jar and DRY it some more for a few more days.

When you first harvest the buds, save some moist large stems in the refrigarator, in a baggie. If you dry it too much, you can add a small piece of stem back, to remoisten it some.

I have CURED pot one week in jars, and tasted it, and then Cured it 4 weeks and tasted it. If you will try the same experiment, or ask any experienced grower, you'll learn (taste) the difference. It is much more potent, and mush sweeter tasting, and smells much better too.

i need a solution to chlorophyll brakedown, assuming thats what causes the bad tatse of fresh bud, i know that curing will do this, but as u may have gathered i havnt got time to cure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey roseman quick question how much wiegt would you say each jar holds lol ive never actually thought about weighing what goes in and comes out of a single jar??:weed:

thanx roseman, i am FULLY aware of the curing process and what the great benefits are!!!!!!!!!! thankyou anyway , appreciated m8.

as u can gather now by me saying that, i havnt got time to cure so basicaly was wondering if there was by any chancea way to clear the chlorophyll faster, cheating if u like!!! probably a silly question by me coz if it was that easy no1 would be curing ?????

theres gotta be some chemical cureing agent but why then ud be replacing those with the new chemical idk jus doesnt seem worth it

I put 15.9 ounces of dried manicued bud into 21 jars, last year, from one grow. Some jars were full of almost 1 and half ounces of popcorn buds. Some jars had one big bud and half a bud, that weighed one ounce total.

Water curing is all I am aware of, and is faster, but it removes ALL the taste. I mean ALL of the taste.

No fast way to do it properly(unless you consider water cure proper) The faster you try to dry it the more chlorophyll you will have. If you dry to fast its locked in there, you dont need a cure, but it helps, if you let your plants dry all the way hanging you will have smokable bud
