How do i grow low (vertically challenged) plants

Hey everybody i got a newb question. Im growing a single bagseed plant in an aquarium stand. Im using a 24" 20 watt fluorescent tube and 3, 15 watt CFLs. Dont worry I will upgrade the lighting. Im wondering besides the strain is there anyway to keep the plant as short as possible? seeing that I only have about 2 ft. of vertical grow space not including the lighting. my seedling is only 1 week old as of today

after about 2 more weeks start LSTing it, meaning LOW STRESS TRAINING. Just tie it down with a piece of string and it will help prevent it from stretching.

females seem to be short and bushy. just keep that light an inch away and have a fan to make a strong plant and fresh air. also blue spectrum lights help.

thanks for all the inputs. Ill start LSTing in a couple weeks. Also would the amount of allowed light help keep it shorter. either more or less allowed light. I planned on 24 hour light for a couple weeks
