How Do I Keep My Plants Short & Bushy? (LST)

How do I tie my plants down to keep them short and bushy, and when should I do this? I have a pretty small growing area so I can't let my plants get to tall.

not trying to be a smart ass, but i always like to watch a few videos on it on youtube first as i find watching videos is much easier to understand than someone typing a response out for something like lst..

Alright thanks racerboy, but when can i start tying the branches? (after how many weeks)

if heights an issue, try topping after the 4th node and then tying branches down as needed to keep the maximum height where ever you'd like it.
