How do I mount my Fan?

At the moment I have a Kosher Kush growing under my new IndaGro 420 Light.
I want to keep heat and smell to a minimum, so I'm installing a 6" Fan & Carbon Filter.
My last grow I had a tent, so I just simply laid my 4" fan on top of the tent, but I can't figure out how to attach this 6" fan to the ceiling?
I'd like to avoid going up into the attic if possible,
because there's not much of anything to walk on up there.
So if possible, I'd like to secure it from my closet.
Any advice? Thanx!

Your pics didn't work. But if it's like any other inline fan there are probably two L shaped metal plates that come with it. You simply remove a screw from the housing on both sides of the housing, and then screw in these plates so they are positioned in whatever way suites your mounting needs... I wish I had a girlfriend like that. I think... lol.

I don't understand why the pics aren't showing. Yes, it's like any other fan with 2 L-Shaped brackets.
However, I don't see how they facilitate mounting. Because they have no holes other than to mount them onto the fan itself. The brackets seem pretty useless from what I can tell actually. I don't understand how I would use these bracket to attach the fan to the ceiling.

I am tempted to say "very carefully". Thank goodness I'm up to resisting the temptation. It is good to be strong. cn

there should be some holes where it tapers out to make the "L" shape. If not, you can always drill your own holes. I was seriously frustrated when I was first trying to mount my fan. The flat parts will go on the sides of the fan, just remove screws from both sides of the housing. There should be holes where it tapers out to attach it to the ceiling.

Try reposting the pictures. Once you've uploaded them, you can click on them to open in a new webpage or tab, copy the url, and paste it into your thread with wrapped around it and it'll appear full sized in the thread.

Just anchor some eye bolts into a ceiling joist and hang your fan with bungees to eliminate possible vibration noise.

Yep I second that. If your in a closet you may have a rod installed for hanging cloths. Get a couple bungy cords and hang your fan! Mounting can cause vibrations and noise.

I'll third that.

Ill 4th the bungee cords.


I fucking love them.


Metal hooks into your joists and then bungee the fan.


Zero noise vibrations.

yep this is best medman View attachment 2589018 like this its easy to get to no vibes and its quick change if shit hits the fan ahahahahah...

or go through the celing and put it in attic push the air through the filter to save space you could attatch it to a collar like thisView attachment 2589032 but they atr not desinged for that it will create backpressure for the fan

Ok I've got it hanging from hooks and bungi cords.
I still have some fine tuning to do, but it works!
