I tried rooting my clones in water but they didn't seem to make any progress so I went ahead and put them in soil and have been keeping it moist.

Welcome to RIU fellow gardener, I swear I was the only one that was into gardening first and then tired growing later. Nice to have a kindred here. :weed:

yep just as youd take any other cutting, 45 degree cut, dip in rooting hormone, its not essential but helps success rates, then into your rooting medium.
i use jiffy pellets or even faster, growth technology root riot cubes, get roots in 8-10days with em, theyre both organic and bio-degradeble etc etc, then into your propagator under propagation lighting, lifting lid off two-three times a day for fresh air and lightly mist once a day until rooted. not too sure how rooting outside or with no lights would go though, my veg/prop room is a constant 23-25*c which afaik a pretty consistent warm temp is fairly important to the rooting of cuttings.

i cut lower branches with at least 2 nodes plus a growing tip, cut on an angle just below a node with a razor blade slice leaves off of that first node dip in clonex put in rockwool or peat pellets depending on intended use. humidity dome yo

i have over 10 years smoking and gardening, but this is only my second plant! sad huh?

I'm at about 26 years of smoking and 23 years of gardening and my first plant has been flowering for 3 weeks now, don't feel like the lone stranger. :-P

I'd rather we be better late than never :bigjoint:

I've read, not sure where, that a light frost will increase resin production.

There are a lot of people from Canada on here, maybe you should ask how they do with frost. I'm sure they'd be glad to help you out.

ive recently, well just started cutting through the node, after reading years ago somewhere that the node is basically a cluster of cells that are more suited to making roots and ive had my fastest roots yet at 7days, i didnt cut any leaves off or cut lower leaves in half like i used to either, just very lightly scoring the stem at the point of the cut helps promote roots too. pic of some of my clones when they were just transplanted from prop to pots and dome removed.

i dont use scalpels either, i buy a couple of packs of dirt cheap twin blade razors, like 30p per pack at the super market, then i just cut the plastic either end of the blades and pull the top bit off and you have two blades, cheap enough to use one blade per cutting as your meant to do.

lol i know smack my wrist, its all good tho, they only get a few days veg after rooting so they will only get to about 18" tall. im not too bothered about the clones, theyre just to fill in the gaps between my bigger seedgrowns, the nl5xhaze clones have gone under 12/12 already because they steeeeettttccchhhh so much  dont worry my bigger seedgrowns get a 10ltr pot to themselves

im more interested in keeping a constant "girlfriend" around than preserving the strain, just looking for strong and healthy, i wish i could, but i cant make time for a hobby quite this big! no space for them all the time, yours look great, sharing a pot or not,

what do mean? you wanna keep a mother plant, if you want to keep the cuttings for next season, which would be a good idea if you got a good plant going, then youl have to keep it under some sort of artificial lighting for 18-24 hours per day to revert and keep the plant in veg and replant next season, the natural outdoor reduction of daylight hours will cause it to flower and die off, and if the donor plant is flowering already then the sooner you take your cuts the better, the longer into flower you leave it before taking the cuts the lower your success rate could be.
