All good! Thanks a lot homie! Walmart have them for cheap and I was gonna put one of those huge 65w CFL's from Home Depot in it to veg my mommy. Is that okay? They are 3,400 lumens. Its not hard. Theres three wires. Black, white, ground. Match them up with an extension cord's wires. Splice them together, youre done. One of the few things in life that truly are "simple."
A PC monitor wire will work fine- any three prong cord will work fine.
It would depend on the size of your mom and the area you are growing in...All good! Thanks a lot homie! Walmart have them for cheap and I was gonna put one of those huge 65w CFL's from Home Depot in it to veg my mommy. Is that okay? They are 3,400 lumens.
lol I've wired things for my box before, I just wasn't sure what wires this had already attached to it. Thanks though!White - nuetral
Black - Hot/positive
Thats what each wire is. Occasionally theres a third that is either copper, or green, which is your ground. A lot of times its not there so dont worry about it.
Use only electrical tape, or wire nuts. Be sure to make sure its not connected to anyhting when working on it.
Be safe and good luck.

My recommendation for CFL's is always lots of smaller ones instead of one big one. The smaller ones generally have a higher lumen to watt ratio, and stay a bit cooler than the CFL's 42w and up. Aside from the higher initial cost (of buying several bulbs instead of just one big one), there arent many advantages to a large singular cfl. By using multiple smaller ones you would also be able to better position the lights around whatever plants you have growing. I like the 23-26 watters. But thats just me.
You can run multiple sockets all wired up to one plug. A standard 3 prong plug can handle at least 700 watts, depending on its rating. You can definetly run a bunch of them on one plug so you wouldnt have to keep the power strip so close.I was thinking about this. Perhaps I should attach my power strip to the ceiling of the cab and have the bulbs hanging from the ceiling with the Y Sockets? I'm already vegging under (4) 23w Daylights now.
'preciate the offer, but I switched to CFL's cause I had heat issues vegging with my 400w HPS. I'm contemplating getting a 5" S&P Fan to set up my cab sorta like this mainly cause I want everything inside the box. My exhaust hole will be on the top and not the side. You can run multiple sockets all wired up to one plug. A standard 3 prong plug can handle at least 700 watts, depending on its rating. Another option is Metal Halide... Ive got an extra one...
