how do my purple haze plants look? newb needs help...PICS!!

this is 24 hours after i planted my clones. how do you think they look. they are rooted already so in about an hour i decided im going to start them on nutrients since they are yellow and look like they need them.

im doing a flood and drain, currently flooding 6 times a day, 30 mins each time, but it still seems like the hydroton drys out faster then it waters, but the jiffy pots the roots are in are nice and moist still...is that okay? they are under a 600w hps with a 6" inline fan cooling and venting the room/light

im going with some BC grow and BC boost right now for veg and will run BC boost and BC bloom in flowering.

i also have 6 white widow going in, in about a week. im waiting til' the W.W. clones are nice and rooted so i can introduce them right in to the nutrients the purps are getting now.

please any comments or anything? any help would greatly appreciate it. im a new 21 year old grower with my medical card and noticed that RIU has some great knowledge.

i dont know if you want to flood for 30 minutes, that might be too long. the key to using flood and drain with hydroclay (I am using the same system, but in my flower room, not my veg room) is to flood and drain every 3 hours. I have read on some other posts that you dont want to choke the roots with the water or they will rot. the key is keeping them moist, and also getting them plenty of air. there is some great info on this site. good luck with your grow!

ive had that thought in my head! the only issue is that i bought a cheap timer i guess and only works in 30 min intervals. i will just buck up tomorrow and buy adigital timer to where i can program different cycle lengths

they are lookin fine, just give em some days to get growing. sometimes it may seem like a slow start, they just need some time... only advice i have is read up.

i am from detroit btw, born and raised in the city. in the burbs now =-D

Yeah I'm out in the burbs now as well. The plants have had nutes for 14 hrs and not any signs of em turning around. I just want my babies healthy and rolling

take a look at my journal, it looked like my plants were doing anything for close to a week, then i gave em nutes and they started to grow. took about a week and a half for them to do anything. i regret not using nutes immediately when i brought my clones home. either way, just be patient, and you will be amazed at what they can bounce back from.

thanks defcom! appreciate it! it looks like they are standing a little taller, but the leaves are still a little droppy and yellow. im running to the hydro shop soon to talk.

i stay on the east-side defcom...

here is a few of the setup im running now. i have a 4x4 table that i will be using instead of the dog pool when the other 6 w.w. go in....or when they need the room. that table was just easy to manuevur since its my first time and ive had it off 30 times

my tent is like 6.5ft cubed. i plan on running a 36 site ebb and flow bucket system with 4-600w lights through winter...

when i added nutes i looked at the "900ppm/1.8ec" and added adequate nutrients to that selection. they look like they are getting a little bigger, still yellow :(

you should be at an EC of .75-1.0 right now. as for them getting yellow, they are working real hard at producing roots right now, you will see em snap back soon enough, and start shooting new growth.

as for me im in the ann arbor area now, and as for the people at the hydro shop, dont pay em no mind. typically they dont know anything about growing. next year i think im going to expand from my 4x4 tent to a 8x4 or 12x4 or something, not sure yet. when i buy a house then im switching to 10kw+ system... gonna be pumpin med's out like clockwork.

edited to add:
not sure if its different for flood and drain, but i definitely know anything over 1.0 would be considered high for my DWC system considering the size of your plants.

tthats what i hope to do. i work 9-6 everyday so i cant really do a perpetual grow, so i want to do a 36 plant setup with 4000 watts or more in my 6.5x6.5x6.5 tent.

so im right on the edge as far as ec and ppm.

should i get a ppm and ec meter and a digital ph? ive been using drops and people say to keep doing that, but i have a hard time putting it purfect orange/yellow LOL

your grow looks awesome! my buddy mothers his in DWC and has an aeroponic setup for his girls. dwc is what i think i will mother mine in as well. seem like the most maintanence free route.

im not really familiar with flood and drain, i would check around on some of the other posts... as for meters, i would suggest highly getting the bluelabs truncheon meter, it is amazing, and has a 5 year warranty, just make sure you allow it to sit in the res for a few minutes to adjust to the temp of the water other wise your results will be inaccurate. i was using drops, but wanted to buy a ph meter just to be sure. i bought the milwaukee ph pen, and it works well. the first day it kept needing to be recalibrated, i think the probe may have needed to just sit in water for a while. also, always store your ph meter in tap water. i just let mine sit in a cup with an inch and a half or so... never distilled water or de-ionized water, as it will fuck your probe up.

and shit, as for that post about .75-1.9 EC i meant to say 1.0EC, 1.9 is very high, thats an ec you would have when you are in flower or something. i would strongly advise diluting your solution immediately. btw, i can shoot you a link to the ebay store that i got my ec meter from, it was way cheaper than everywhere else:

keep an eye on them closely for nute burn, if you notice the tips curling up or turning yellow and brown put em in some ph'd tap water. nute burn at that young could be seriously detrimental. i went from like .1 ec to .4 to .7 to 1.0 over the span of a week to acclimate them to the change.

what it does budman, haha, im gonna have to make a detroit group on here.
