How do you assemble tube lights?

Hey all, im trying to figure out what I need in order to install some fluorescent tube lights. Has anyone encountered this before and found a good guide for newbs?

Basically I want to purchase the light bulbs, and any other part that I need that goes with it. I know I could just google this, and I actually have googled it, but I'm assuming that there MUST be some sort of guide already out there for the weed community which is newb friendly and stuff like that. Step by step points. there has to be.

just buy a T5 you would prolly pay more by buying the stuff to make one yourself then buying a T5 if thats what you mean i don't really understand what you mean

Thanks guys. Nitro man I did google. i googled allot, and even used youtube but I couldn't find the information I needed.

See, you typed in "how to make a t5 fixture", but How on earth is a newb supposed to know what a t5 fixture is, and therefore search on the net for information regarding how to make it?

i bought a 12" hooded t8 dual bulb 4' fixture from home depot for 25.00, with 5' cord. the 6500k bulbs were 10.000

Regardless of what you go with, here is a small safety tip.

Never install a flo. bulb while looking up at it, line it up, look down at your feet and then assert the pressure needed to insert the bulb and twist it (if needed). If a flo. bulb breaks, and they damn sure can, the contents can blind you on contact, and not just the glass, there are compounds in there that are evil as hell when they meet the fluids of the eyeball.

man like most said here I would just buy a ballast, simple wing reflector, and 1 MH bulb and 1 HPS bulb (one for vegging for for budding to get both ends of spectrum ), a cooling tube is always a good idea but can become costly but you can get what I named in 150,400,600,1000 watt for about $120.00 shipped, they will last a life time, 150-400 and are awesome for small grows, 600-1000 are for multiplants, If you cannot afford an cooling tube (just a tube that goes over the bulb) simply at least apply a small rotating fan to bring temps down..i hope something here helps if not sorry, Good luck on whatever you decide but like Mr. Ganja said the compounds in flo. bulbs can be very dangerous!! so be careful if you do go that route, Bye and Stay High!

... so, there's the ballast, the bulb, and the two end pieces that hold the light... and also the frame, but really you can make your own frame cant you?
