How could you keep a clone in a small 8 ounce container for 2 seasons without it becoming root bound? Would you just pack the soil in as tight as possible so roots penetrate slowly?

plants need roots to survive. it would either have to be in a huge pot or you could cut the roots. but it would eventually become too much of a cluster of roots. it would then suffocate and die. i would have to say its not possible

ok, you can still prune the roots in soil, twice a year trim off the bottom inch of roots and a half of an inch off the sides and repot...
