How do you fill your 100 gallon reservoir?

im upgrading my system to 2 4x8 ebb and flow tables with a 100 gallon reservoir which will run at separate times because im short on cash to buy 2 289 dollar reservoirs. but i got to thinking how should i fill it up?
i have a few ideas but im wondering how you fill yours up?

A garden hose with an inline RO dual filter to trap sediment and remove chlorine and chemicals. Of course with 100 gallons, that would require a fast flow rate set up, 5 microns nominal.

well i live in an apartment and the grow is upstairs we don't even have a hose

i would not run two tables off of one res. the nutrient and ph flux will drive you crazy and easy chance of disease and plant problems will show on all

you need to get a long hose to reach the upstairs. it's an awful idea to carry jugs or water up, very bad to the back especially when you're carrying total 100gals

hit craigslist buy a few 55 gal food grade barrels and run a ro like purewaterclub.com they are cheap and order a second float switch and viola you have 110 gal of ro water in a second res ready to put in your tables res whenever you need it. get a utility pump like 1500 gph from lowes for like 70 and a hose and you will be able to dump that 100 gal res into your bath tub toilet or whatever in about 15 min with no lifting then transfer over the 100 gal of ro water to your tables res in another 15 min with no lifting.

that should cost you about

$10 50' hose
$120 150gpd ro from purewaterclub.com (ive used them they are great)
$70 for 1500 or so gpd utility pump
$10 extra float switch for ro
$20-$40 55 gal food grade barrels (craigslist they are always available in my state all over so i assume you should be able to find them also).

that would be the best $230 you ever spent. perfect pure water every time and no lifting. also if you dont want to buy another res why not just go to home depot or lowes and get a 50 gal tote and measure it and have them cut for free a few 2 x 4's to build a frame for it so it does not bow out under the pressure of the water and use that for a res. probably would cost you $30-$40 tops. they would do all the cutting you just measure it and request they cut it and then screw it together at home.

i grow in an apartment and what i do is, i have large totes that ive marked the measured amount on, i put it in my bathtub, and let the shower run into it at the desired temp, it will release some of the chlorine in the process, then i use a $15 submersible pump, and 1/2" hose to pump the water into the reservoir. you could just get a bucket, and let the water run into that while you pump simultaneously into the reservoir, but im a pothead and am afraid of flooding my poor neighborlady.

i.e. you could get a 40gal tote and fill it three times, it will probably take about an hour or a little more, but its floodproof, and you can do other shit while that is filling up... believe me, the biggest thing i was scared about growing dro systems in an apartment was flooding the other apartment. i wont even do anything if there is the risk of a flood.

also, if you want to increase how fast you can pump that water over, get a bigger pump. i also drain in my bathtub as well by the same method. i just make sure to run some clean hot water through my pump and hose afterwords.

You can buy a hose adapter for any kitchen sink, they're mostly sold for waterbeds. Just check out your local hardware or a place that sells waterbeds, someone told me they saw one at walmart. They're super cheap.

thanks for your help guys.the grow room im using is close to the bathroom so i was thinking i could buy a shower water filter (about 30 bucks) cleans out all chlorine and filters water and fill up my bathtub. then put my 400 gph pump into the tub and run the hose from the pump into the next room and fill the res up that way?
of course i would clean the tub and what not.

Is your table gonna be wide open or will it be full of grow medium such as hydroton?

I use one res for two tables and it works out very nicely for me.

I use two pumps set on two different timers set 30 minutes apart.

I fill my 100 gal res with a hose adapter from the bathroom faucet.

Use H2O2 to keep any pestilence at bay. I use 16 oz of %35 food grade H2O2 for my res.

Then you have to think about draining the tank as well. To drain I have a y in the hose from the pump to the table. I just hook up the hose and open the right valve and it drains into the toilet.

Um, just shove a piece of hose over the end of the bathroom tap like one of those portable showers. Would require very little in way of toolls or supplies to fabricate.
