if you harvest with mites how do you get rid of them? If you cut lets say yesterday, could you give it a quick shower then dry it out???

Could you get the mites to leave on their own accord? By putting it somewhere they'd find uncomfortable? (ie: too dry, too cold, too warm, ect?)

Almost seems like they'd just fall off when the bud dried, unless they were super bad. You could remove a lot manually during trimming.

And THC isn't water soluble (if it was, rain would wash it off), so you can wash them... not sure if that will get rid of spider mites though, esp. living ones.

hang the buds upside down and the mites will crawl to the top of the stem and sit there in a pile.
I have heard of putting sticky shit on either end of the rope and they will get stuck if they try to cross it.
I have a pic of mites that have abandoned ship and will post it. If I can find it.
There it isbut it is sideways. Remember they crawl to the top so if you hang it rightside up they will crawl to the top of the cola and make a web. If you lay it flat they will still crawl to the highest poing and make a web.

you just got rinse the buds well every day up till harvest when you got it bad if its after chopping em down its a little too late. i just harvested some bud from a mite infested plant but because i hit that motherfucker every day with a blast of cold water they stayed out the budss and on the leaves.

If this works, it's sweet.

Seems like there has to be a way to get a flying creature to move on it's own accord.

Have you tried leave the buds under water for like 10 minutes? Actually drowning them instead of trying to "wash them off"

I would try rid any insects before harvest even of I had to spray with water to clean them up. If its spider mites then a fine spray will stop everything in its tracks. Just make it very weak, like 0.1% 1ml/litre. Them take everything apart at harvest and spread it out.

like said, the little bastards will go to the highest point. if you hang your plant on a wire, they will walk down the line and find other plants. You can put tanglefoot at each end and they won't be able to get off the line. Then hang a sticky trap so it's touching the highest point. they will climb over each other on to the trap. or go in every couple hours and torch the bastards.

if you want to wash the plant, you can do that. Just make sure you have a lot of air movement in the drying room.

mb the freezer? it doesn't affect the essential oils. but it will def kill the mites. you can chop up ur buds. and just use it as shake. or kief it all out. kief is stronger anyway. just an idea:)

just my opinion but bringing a houseplant into the grow area is an invitation to more problems.
He didnt say bring it into the grow area he said the drying room. I don't know about anyone else but I don't dry where I grow. I like to dry at low steady temps.

Oh yeah i just figure everyones setup looks the same as mine.
I have divided one room into three so my dry is close to my flower and veg.
I can see how it would work because once that shit starts to dry they FOR SURE head up and out.
