How do you grow in an apartment? (w/o getting busted)

I've been growing in houses for the last 2+ years, but now I'm thinking of moving into an apartment. Is it safe? I have a tent with 1200W I run a 6" cooling fan and a 4" to carbon filter. This doesn't sound out of place in a house but apartments are often very poorly insulated. Also when I harvest my place stinks for a few days. I'm sure people grow in apartments but I feel nervous about it. So what tips can you pass along? Thanks

That's not helpful...
What is it that you get together and how do you set it up?
When you harvest to you scrub a room and vent to the outdoors?
Do you do anything special about fan noise?
I would like to know some particulars.

well as far as harvesting iwould just keep it in a closet the furthest away from the door so the smell isnt tooo tooo bad. as far as fan noise i guess it depends on the time of year. it would be uncommon to hear fans in the winter, but common in the summer. if i were you just keep it down to a few plants and be very discreet about it. hope this helps

You might check and see if you can find a drain pipe to vent thru, that way the smell gets mixed in with the sewage. As far as harvest I don't think you'll be able to do much in keeping the smell down, maybe a lot of ozone might work. Just some ideas.

Are you doing this for personal use or for sale? Because there is a difference you know. I wont try to earn a buck at the risk of all these people you share space with. If it's for personal consumption, like i am planning to do, the way i see it, my little portable ceramic heater consumes 1500 watt of power running all day. To me shutting off that heater and turning on a 400 watt hid light to grow 5 plants is not a big deal. I seen people runnig all kinds of crazy stuff. PC grow, fans, and hydro and all kinds of crap. Just get the best soil possible, open up a door to let in natural air and turn the light on. Also, please buy equpment that is professionally put together. Anything that reduces fire hazard must be encouraged.
