How do you make purple bud?

if you run the nitrogen high in bloom and it still turns purple its a true purple.

u people are idiots.. purple comes in many variants of strains look it up.. I E Grand daddy purple purple erkle, out here in the bay thas all we fuck wit.. u can also make r plants turn purple with cold. so indoor get down pretty cold for a week or so before harvest.. and a blacklight has NOTHING to do with it...

Tokalotofganja "BTW cold weather is the right answer" While not incorrect isn't "The Right Answer" either. Both enviormental conditions (cold) and nutritional deficencies can make bud go a purplish color (assuming that there are purple chloroplasts to begin with) but stressing your plants out for a minor change in color just makes no sense. If you really need to grow purple buds then go for one of the strains that goes purple under normal growth conditions.
The Main reason for growing Purple Bud is bag appeal (And i am the first to acknowledge that bag appeal shouldn't even enter into the equation when you are buying cannabis but sadly until pot users educate themselves a bit bag appeal will continue to be a big factor for many) though i will say that some med users i know really prefer some of the purple strains (could be placebo effect) but under no circumstances should a grower compromise on quality for the sake of color.

A backlight will actually increase crystal production toasted the very end of the flowering cycle like the last 24-48 hrs before harvest or also putting the ladies back under the metal halide another funny little trick of the trade hammer a nail through the stem right near the soil this sudden shock throws the plant into hyperdrive acting like a last stand of bud production and all the resources are utilized in accomplishing this but only 24-36 hrs before harvest

Purple color comes from genetics or using purple food coloring in your water! lol I was just kidding.
It comes from purple strains and a proper environment to grow in.
My grandaddy purple strain turns dark when ripening then the crystals start turning milky.
