This private island is situated 200 feet (61 metres) off the mainland, near Ruskin, Florida - 45 minutes by car from Tampa and St. Petersburg. The fishing is excellent around the island and a 14 foot (11 metre) Jon Boat with trolling motor and a canoe are at the guests' disposal.

There is a small tidal beach on the north side of the island which is accessible at low to medium tides. Accommodation is a 2-storey home which sleeps 6. The house has a living room, large kitchen, and 2 bathrooms, as well as a large sun deck on its south side. Amenities include central air conditioning, a dishwasher, tv/vcr, washing machine, fridge, phone, gas BBQ and all linens. A dock and parking facilities are available on the mainland.

i'm all about a secluded island with a bunch of stoners.

HELL YEAH!!! I always wanted to do this anyway. I'm pretty sure we can do or make anything we would need to "survive". Giant windmills and solar for power, desalinization plant for water..grow.....stuff. I can make a mean pizza and ice cream so far and will take requests for other types of food.

I've been saying this for years... but nobody listend... so yea lets do it... there are tons of small islands that you can buy, their just incredibly expensive.... but making an island... now that fancy talk

That island sucks! We need something bigger. That one doesn't seem ideal for growing and it's most likely infested with some form of monster mosquito.

me an a bunch of friends were gonna go once but changed our minds, its only 200 ft from the coast

Now wha? besides sparkin a bowl.
Solar for power, huge windmills, great ideas.
..I can't even start a fuckin fire,let alone build a windmill.
Wha bout the large bugs(i dont like bugs crawlin on me)
I can't hunt or kill anything(outside of humans!)

So here we are, standing on the island, to cold at night,to hot
all day, hungry, scared and covered in bug bites.

I'd give us two days, max.

You guys sure you just dont want to over take a state, doesnt have to be
new mexico, I just thought NM was a good idea because nobody would care.
Hell even a small mexican army took over NM for 48 hrs back in the day.

How would that look to the rest of the world, if we stated(held a state)
and made are own declaration of independence?
Lock us up or even kill us because we wanted are freedom, yeah that
wouldnt go over well with the rest of the free world.The Fed goverment
would be in a lose lose position, either we get are independence or the
whole world would see the actions taken by are goverment-all because we wanted
are freedom.

We would be no match compared to the US, Mexican or even the Iraqi army. We'd be squashed like bugs!! They're heavily armed.. If we wanted to take over a US city or something perhaps we could get the backing of the Russians, Iranians or Venezuelans. Still seems like a bad idea.

I could easily live on an island and survive. I have primitive living skills yo.... and I was a boy scout AND took karate. I can make Survivor Man look like a bitch!

Nothing like some big, plump organic meat..........dipped in a deep fryer.
Maybe I can spice them up, a little Old Bay perhaps....or maybe some Buffalo Chicken sausage!! I love Buffalo sauce on just about anything...or nothing at all.

you might consider moving a couple hundred thousand people into a national park up north, purchasing a few second hand nuclear warheads from an old warsaw pact nation and seceding from the union. provided you're dedicated enough to pull the trigger, you might even get away with it.

I'm telling you island in the Phillilpines. We could pay locals to bring us fish everyday for food...It's hot year round there but they do have a rainy season...So if you get a greenhouse you could grow year round...It would be paradise...I'm doing it either way one day...If some of you guys want it, I'd be down, the sooner I can do it the better...I want to be the president, tho.

good idea. i've wondered about my own country too. but the land cost would be prohibitive. it would need to be an island somewhere which would still cost millions.

it wouldnt be big but it became prosperous you'd have to fiqure out how to enrich Uranium quickly enough to get a nuclear bomb before the U.S. occupied your ass and started a for-profit war against your 'terrorism' of not wanting to be a part of their wonderful and holy Empire.

I think we could all just move to a town somewear, anywear, and there would be too many of us for them to do anyting about it.,.. even if it was in washington DC
