How do you store seed for next year ?

This years seeds are in the ground and I am faced with the extra and ones that I am going to try next year. Aside from 35mm film cannisters (i cant get them) how do you store your precious seeds until next year ?

Just somewhere away from light and moisture in an air tight container. Ie the back of a dresser drawer. Idk about the fridge because mine has a lot of condensation in it.

People get all fancy with there seeds lol I just stick them in a baggie and put them in my drawer :D

Well it depends on how long you want to keep them. Seeds usually start having lower germ r asates after a year and the germ rate gets worse as time passes. Oldest seeds I've seen sprouted were around 35 years old.

I believe 5 out of 25 sprouted. So around 10 percent after 35 years and they were in an airtight cansiter in a box.

Kept probably 20 in a little tin container for about 9 months or more.. tryed germinating about 15 and only one didnt pop

its not being fancy. how do you think seed banks keep there seeds fresh? both ways work theres no right or wrong in this

the goal is to keep them COOL (without freezing). DRY. AND NO OXYGEN. AND NO LIGHT. this is the BEST way to store ANYTHING.

that's the best way.
