How do you transfer owners of existing collective/non profit?

Im looking into taking over a collective in SO cal. the place seems really chill but not too busy. Ive been trying to find out if there are any liens or debts owed that may obstruct a smooth transition. Sellers permit is out of date and they are still doing biz. Does anyone have advice or is there a website i can reference w/out hiring an atty?

Thanks

not hiring an attorney could cost you big.

do not take over until all the permits are up to date. not renewing within 30 days of something expiring usually makes getting it again harder than the original applications process.

Your best bet when trying to form a collective or to take over one, or anything involving you becoming the owner of anything associated with MMJ is to talk to an attorney. There's so much legal jargon involved and you really don't want to have your door busted down because you forgot to file some stupid paperwork or something. It's better to spend a couple gs on an attorney now rather than end up in court and having to hire one in hindsight.
