I got so sick of cleaning 300Litres every 30 days lol and went to growdan but I like the washer, how do you stop it from geting in all the small spots
and jaming things up? and when you wash it are you add any agent to aid in the cleaning?

I put them in the tub with bleach, let soak, pick the crap out of them. Then I drain the bleach water and get in the shower and kick them around with my feet while rinsing them. Then I use a strainer to give them one last rinse and put them back into buckets for use.

I hace a suuper small amount to wash, so peroxide isnt a bad way to go for me, but i imagine if you have allot of it to wash peroxide wouldnt be a good choice due to cost.

He obv puts them in the washer. I imagine it would work with the standard washer. You could catch any rocks that make it through the drain into a strainer if ya really wanted. I thought of this before but didn't want to risk any soapy substance getting on my rocks.

I put a little bleach in for the first wash. Then wash again, the ph the last wash. The small ones go right through and I have never had a problem. I've washed about 200liters of hydroton.

There is no way im putting hydroton in my 1200 washer...the tub works for me with peroxide or a small amount of dial antibacterial with a thorough HOT rinse!

rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse rinse...dry
Dont forget, if you rinse too hard you will always have red water. I start the wash with..in the wash... Whites load+ 10%bleach....colors load wash.....then delicate rinse. It's the same as making hash in the washer, you can run until it's clear water. I have a couple washers, this one is for hash. Sorry it's up side down, I dont know why? IMG_2084.jpg

I wash my rocks with first with bleach. I let it sit a couple hours then drain the water. Then I wash them with vineger maybe 30 minutes or so. This removes all the salts. I use some 5 gallon buckets for this whole process. Have done this for 3 grows now with no problems. Just thought I share with you all.

I put it in a big bucket and fill it with water, i pour that into a large colander and rinse, i repeat that twice, takes maybe 5-10 minutes. Has never caused me an issue doing it this way.
