I've been doing soil for three years n now I'm trying to do some style of hydro n i have a 5-15gallon pump, tubing, and a air stone for a fish tank n i was wondering if i can use these things to make a bubble ponics system, and mainly what is bubble ponics? if anyone if willing to help explain that I'd be sweet thanks.

ya that will set you up nicely for a bubbleponic grow. Type in Roseman's DIY Bubbleponics Tutorial to google it's the second or so link down, he explains the set up in great detail, but I can give you the gist. You pretty much have a DWC grow set up, except for when the lil girls are seedlings you use a pump to constantly feed them water, until the roots are sufficient enough to feed themselves.

dude i got a 5 gallon bucket. the lid has a pot made tight into it. I use hydroton and just let the roots grow down into the bubbles. its just one bubble disk and air pump. i keep the water level 1 inch below the bottom of the pot and the bubbles make sure shes feeding. Ive done other setups and let me tell u ive never had the healthy root system i have now. good root system means good plants good plants means good bud

What level did you keep your water at before the roots came out of the pot and into the res?

Yes you leave the roots constantly in the water. I run a 10 bucket RDWC, and while in flower I leave the buckets half full, in veg I keep the water about 1" from the bottom of the net pot (like cyborg said). The plants don't get overwatered, or root rot (if you do it right, keep the temps right, etc etc etc... If you do it wrong you will get root rot) because of the air pump(s) and the air stone(s). The pump puts dissolved oxygen into the water, and the DO prevents the plants from becoming overwatered. If your air pumps are too weak or non exsistant then your plants will become overwatered.

PeaceLuvPot, I can not vouch for what others do, but I can tell you what I do. I never have a time where the roots don't poke out of the net pot. I clone in a DIY EZ-Cloner, and I don't transplant until my roots are 9" to 12" long. I do believe that is what most people do, although I could be wrong. If I am wrong, it is what most people SHOULD do, cause it makes things so easy, and the girls just take off after transplant.
