I like to trim just a bit closer myself, although after hours of trimming and trying to finish a plant I tend to start getting lazy. I also learned to wear gloves like ABM does, getting that sticky shit off your hands (and everything else you touch) is a pain....after a while it gets like pine sap

and you can keep using it over and over again so you don't need to buy rubbing alcohol all the time. I've been using the same cup of vegetable oil to clean my fiskars for the better part of a year. Put em in the cup for a few minutes and they wipe of good as new with no effort.
Also works on grinders

It WAS you that told me that!
i couldn't remember who said it lol. It's been working like a charm. Fingers all black/brown with resin and just a little vegetable oil, good rubbing, and a little dawn dish soap to get the oil off. Great stuff.

glad it's working out. The only instance I prefer alcohol to veg oil for resin removal is on bubble bags. It works great, probably better than alcohol, but it's extremely difficult to remove all the oil from the bags and if you don't get it all off, the crystals you're trying to capture with the bags will partially absorb into the oil and push through the bags.

I will do the same. I still have 1 plant to finish up. Thanks again for all the tips and tricks guys. With out you I would have said FUCK HARVEST after the first plant instead of the 15th! LMFAO!!!!!!

keep em in there for 15 minutes, then one wipe with a rag and they'll look brand new with no effort.

awesome thread, and some great reading. ... well im helping my friend chop down 22 5' plants and we plan on trimming for 2 days TOPS with (2.5 oz per plant), with the help of 3-4 other people. would you say that dry trimming would be the best route or wet trimming. i do agree a dry trim will make the smell really come out beautifully but takes longer to trim... how much longer would you say, per plant?

im probably too late but i like to trim off the big pieces wet (fan leaves and leaves that stick out furthest from the buds) then let it dry out and before putting it in a jar do my final trimming (ie the leaf closest to the buds) when it drys out the leaves closest to the buds practically fall off with every swipe of the scissors. when its wet thats not the case...you start damaging buds etc.
when dry it makes cutting close to the buds easy. real easy imo.
thats how i trim anyway.
you want to remove a good amount of leaf when you first chop it down because it'll hold more moisture and take longer to dry otherwise and could cause mold if your humidity isnt good in your dry room.

Well, my oil worked well for cleaning purposes but the brownies absolutely sucked. i ate the whole damn pan over the course of two days and was chasing a buzz the whole time.

glad it worked out for you. maybe the oil didn't absorb enough resin to make brownies, idk. Never tried that.
