Hey everyone. Today my plant is a month old! Haven't decided when I'll be flowering yet. It's 9" tall. Does that seem short? Also what the things I've circled in the picture?? Lights are 400watt mh and a high output t5 for added lighting. Any recommendations on when to start flowering?? I would like a plant about 3ft tall!! Where will the bud form at? Thanks everyone!! O and it's an indica plant Dutch Passion Mazar fem seeds is what I got. I know the one things next to the things I've circled are spicule just need to know what I've circled and does it look like it has started that calyx thing or preflower?? Can you tell if there female yet I've been worried since the start about herm and stuff though they've never had any stress. Also is it normal to have like 7 or 8 nodes on such a short plant (8inches)? Lastly when will the nodes start alternating or has that already started??

looks good, but right now you need to top it and kink or super crop it. If you don't it will just continue to to stretch and will look gay.. lol Also, if it is a male you can flower it and keep the pollen. It will produce seeds for you for future stock.

I haven't decided if I'm going to top it or not....I don't want to stress and make it herm. If I decide to top it how and where do I do that?

If you are not willing to experiment then you shouldnt grow weed because thats all growing weed is "experimenting". Trying to get the best results with different trials and errors

Topping isn't going to cause your plants to herm.. That's pot voodoo talk there.

As for your question, you should start flowering when the canopy is almost filled out. You want the canopy to be full when the stretch is finished.

If your flowering light is 400W, and you're using 50W/sqft, your canopy should be somewhere around 8sqft. The tent/box should be about that big. (400W * sqft/50W = 8sqft).

bla.. lol Also, if it is a male you can flower it and keep the pollen. It will produce seeds for you for future stock.
If it is 'Male' it does not produce seeds...
The Males produce pollen that causes a bud [female] to catch a small amount of this male pollen then it will produce a seed....
You may be confused by the Male part hanging down 'Balls' are not seeds either...
Good Luck....other than that, your answer was happy....

1. Nice looking plant there man
2. DP Fem Mazar most likely will end up female as that's what it's supposed to be.it's feminized.you said it yourself.
3. The start to form everywhereeeeeeeeee :weed: top bud site and spread down ( I think )
4. Given it's an indica and hasn't stretched much at all so far , you could probably veg for bit longer and still stay under 3' (especially if you top that plant)
5. It is normal for an indica plant to be that short and have that many branches .

you ask any recommendations ? I recommend topping her . let her veg another 3-4 weeks and flip it . good luck . oh and try cloning the top if you decide to go that way

Hey guy, plant looks nice. Take the good comments with the bad and don't sweat the little stuff.
The photo is hard to make out what you've circled so I cannot comment on that. One thing I've noticed was your extremely cautious over stressing your girl. Have faith, they are very resilient, topping her will do more help than harm! She will love you for it and within 3 days you will start to see some mad growth up top. Since you know it's a fem seed, don't rush to flower it. A few more weeks in veg will help you out a lot in the long run. The only way you will truly stress her is by over loving her or a light leak once you flip to 12/12.

Someone mentioned cloning the top and of its large enough I would really consider that. You will have a nice bushy clone in 14 days of done right.

Good luck

thanks man. yea you have to save the image and enlarge to see what i'm talking about lol. this is all trial and error for me. I have 2 of them going age is a day apart and the other one is only like half the size it's weird I've done everything the same except the big one in the picture I soaked that seed for 2 hours before sprouting it in a paper towel. I will be topping the smaller for sure. Just can't wait for the day when I don't have to pay for my smoke anymore lol and I do have a clonex kit

you can flower anytime you feel like it and your comment really makes no sense.
Think about what you're saying,8 square feet would be a monster plant.
Please think before you speak.
